Looks like they are going to pass some kinda health care bill in the next couple days. I was at a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer, the Senator for CA, the other day (not as a donor) and her big theme seemed to be, "Why can't these Republican jerks just let us get this thing through so we can go home for Christmas?" No joke. They...

Obama picked up his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo today. Both Obama and the Prize are discredited, with our escalation in Afghanistan. The Nobel people shouldn't have offered the prize, and Obama should not have accepted it.

Pathetic...

What a sad announcement, that Obama is going to send more troops to Afghanistan, possibly as many as 35,000 more. We don't even have a clear aim here. He has not pitched this war to the American public in even a remotely satisfactory way. What are our aims there? How could we 'win'? What would 'winning' even look like? And our Man in Afghanistan is...

The picture you left on my blog is awesome. We did not get to The Lincoln Memorial at night, but it was pretty awesome during the day. I hope that you will continue to blog here now and then if the mood strikes you. I will always be around to have a look and contribute my two cents. smile

Greetings all! It has been awhile, and I know you've all been on the edge of your seats waiting for my new blog update. Well, I've been on vacation, and I've had a fine time. Went all over, and now I'm back, with pictures.

One place I went may be of interest to some people here, seeing as a big part of SG is pictures...

Saw the second of two Sonic Youth shows here in DC last night. If your keeping score, the first one got a mediocre review. Although it was good, it was not up to their usual very high standards. Probably the weakest SY show I have ever seen.

Well, last night was a huge improvement. A fantastic show, possibly the best of the maybe 8-10 shows...

So funny how the same band can be so vastly different from show to show. I am glad it was better for you the second night. Thanks for the photo. kiss

Last night I saw Sonic Youth at the 9:30 club here in DC. A good show, but not they were not in peak form. Maybe they are starting to be less good. Fair enough, after doing this stuff for more than 25 years. But maybe it was just an off night. Can happen to any band. I just never felt so much like they were...

I saw Sonic Youth in concert about four years ago. It was an outdoor concert at the state fair and it rained the entire time. Lol. It was still fun. When I saw them, they had terrible openers.

Bernard Madoff got 150 years in prison for his fraud scheme. He will die in jail. Doesn't do much to help the people who lost $65,000,000,000, but at least its something. I'm sure many of his victims would kill him with their bare hands.

Prosecuting white collar criminals, and delivering harsh sentences, is so important if we are to maintain any semblance of justice in...

I saw Obama last nite! To make extra money I work in the events industry, and I worked an event last nite where Obama was a guest. It was a pretty big event, so I didn't see him up close, but its nice to actually be in the same room with him. Also saw the mayor, Adrian Fenty, at very close range. He is an...

Need to burn out the distractions, the peripherals. Gotta get to the core, figure out what's most central, how to proceed from the center. Gotta correct this course I'm on, and then go faster, faster.

I need a compass, or a lightning flash, some kinda something.

As usual, I turn to music. Listening to the CD "Scriptures of the Golden Eternity" by Lee Ranaldo. Reminds...
