It's also disheartening because it gives me some real deep perspective as to how toxic masculine culture really is. When males tell one another: "Yeah I hate men too" that's really scary. What it means is that males are often subject the same levels of abuse as females albeit for completely different reasons. When you look at it from that perspective masculine culture isn't just toxic, it's downright dangerous for everyone.
Women are pressured to be sex objects for the sole purpose of pleasing men. Men who don't buy into this are bullied until they do. Women are pressured to be nothing more than pretty faces on aesthetically pleasing bodies once again for the sole pleasure of men. Males who don't buy into this are bullied until they do. Women are pressured into having children and staying at home. Males who don't buy into this are bullied until they do. Very often males who have good, healthy friendships with females are bullied for no other reason than they aren't seeking sex from their friend. Worse yet, males who have healthy friendships with females who are married are dragged aside by their counterparts and told: "Watch out for her man, she's going to cheat." "You better be careful, she's going to cheat with you and then her man is going to kill you!" For some reason that defies all definition of the word logic instilling this paranoia is called: "Looking after your bro" or "Protecting your buddy." They automatically assume that any woman out there who wants to be "just friends" is somehow some sort of wicked evil entity that will suck your soul out through your genitals the first chance she gets. It's pathetic how men treat everybody. If you aren't some sex crazed, testosterone driven, all conquering MAN then you're just some downtrodden piece of shit and that means everyone who claims the title of man has the right to bully you. The worst part is men treat bullying and harassment as A RIGHT. Yeah. As if somewhere there is a law written down that sanctions this behavior towards anyone "not man enough."
Men are pigs. That's why I'm not a man.
