The other day, I bought Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo on DVD, because why the fuck not? Actually, I tried to buy it, for $14 even, but Amazon.com was like, "So, I know we said that was $14, but just between the two of us, we like you, so we're going to apply this mystery $14 credit, making your total purchase.... $0!" Sometimes having Amazon Prime feels like I've got a rapport with them, like they're the bartender I've been tipping really well and gotten familiar with.

Last weekend, Shal and I went camping with GarageDelFuego and his wonderful fiancee, and, as Shal so eloquently put it, we stood on top of a mountain and watched rain fall on the fog-shrouded Channel Islands. We also saw some shooting stars (which was the impetus for the trip, it being a perfect viewing night for a double meteor shower). It was pretty awesome.

A week from now, I'll be getting ready to go to San Francisco for a Wordpress conference, and it'll be good to see some of my favorite bay area residents.

It's worth noting that the lack of blogs between this one and the last is partly due to feeling like I should write an entry about our honeymoon transcontinental road trip of awesomeness, and never quite getting around to it. I may still do that, chronological order be damned!

I worked on "Breakin' 2". The rotating room sequence with Shrimp...that was my room rig that was originally built for "Nightmare on Elm Street". No lie. Funny seeing the name pop up here.
Yep, I'm old.

Those are neat old land yachts. Maintenance and repair are dead simple and easy 90% of the time. Mileage sucks and they neither stop nor turn worth a damn, but no worse than anything else of the era and you can make improvements in the area if you want. For 600 bucks you really cant go wrong, even if it costs you a grand to get it to LA.

Considering LA freeways if you get it you should consider adding power disc brakes, which involves swapping the master cylinder to a power brake/dual circuit unit and adding a booster, along with front discs rather than drums.

Well, wanna just bet straight up? Either winner gets to pick the group picture for a week or loser writes a poem?

Or open to other ideas.

I know you wanted it. Just for the "Electric Boogaloo" part. Same reason my friend bought Speed 2: Cruise Control and Star Trek 2: Wraith of Khan.

Breakin 2 Rules. I have it on DVD and it's always a Crowd pleaser on those "what movie should we watch" nights. haha

Nice! Yeah, it screened in Portland last weekend but I was unable to make it. After hanging out with the guy, I'm definitely curious to see it. Hope the birthday was good!

Science suggest that your inability to eat strawberries may have contributed to why you got sick.

maybe i'm reading too deep into that. but it's interesting nonetheless.
