Honestly now, how does this help me?
Hello,
Thank you for your message.
We successfully tested your key on 17 different test systems with 17
different AnyDVD versions.

Curious to see if it was just my machine, I tried installing the program and key on several different machines at work.
Nada, and not only THAT, but it was behaving REALLY oddly.
I Installed with all the default settings, rebooted my computer, launched anyDVD.
I got the message:
"You have 21 days left of your 21 day trial period - please wait"
I can launch and use anyDVD in the trial mode.
I then run the included file, Key.anyDVD, and get the message:
"Registration of
c:\Documents and Settings\DJ Larkin\desktop\key.AnyDVD
ok! Please restart AnyDVD"
I then close anyDVD, restart it and get the message:
"Your trial period has expired"
I have the option to Order or Exit. After clicking exit, and relaunching anyDVD, I get the message
"You have 21 days left of your 21 day trial period - please wait".
I opened my key in a text editor, and found the place where the key is supposed to be in my registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SlySoft\AnyDVD\Key
There is no entry called Key, only the following:
(Default)
Affiliate
Path
Stamp
I tried manually inputting it in to the registry at this location, but with no success.
Its this kind of asstastic support that causes me to tear my hair out. If the guy had taken MY key, instead of their internal utilities to test this, he would have seen it was broken. Here's a tip: Developer tools work differently, and arent going to be able to reproduce bugs that users see. This is a major breakdown in the line of communication of so many Support departments around the world. If I could figure out how to just manually edit this key in (believe me, I tried about 10 different ways of sliding it in to my registry), I would be set. However, this guy continues to be obtuse.
I sent in one last email with the above discoveries, just to see if he'll be helpful at all. I asked him to either send me a new key file, or instructions on manually editing in the key. If he dodges again, i'm asking for a refund.
Really now.
