Ask and ye shall receive.
I have a job, it's certainly not a keeper, and involves far too much time on the telephone, but it'll pay the bills and all I have to do is walk to the end of the road and jump on a train 3 stops to get there (with a 5 minute walk at the other end) and if I get the commission I think I can then it'll tide me over indefinitely until I find that dream job.
The exam went fine, I wasn't that optimistic, simply because there was a big section in the middle of the course when life took me away from study, and quite frankly I hadn't even read half the course books. Got lucky in the exam though, and unlike the sample paper I'd seen, there were enough questions to choose from that I had done the reading on that I'm pretty confident I passed and they'll have no idea of the gaping hole in my knowledge. I wrote about 15 pages in 3 hours, so I hope I knew what I was talking about, or whoever is marking it is going to be stunned that someone could write at such length, with such authority, about entirely the wrong thing.
Pride and Prejudice is still shit. Classic is a funny word, sometimes it just means old.
Got a big weekend ahead of me, I start work in about 2 hours then, in theory, home for a quiet night as I have to be up early and off to London for a weekend with the girl, and a particularly lovely old friend. (By lovely I might mean loudmouthed.) There may even be pictures to follow, as I've been doing none of that lately.
I'm also in one of my work out/eat better/drink less (though the rate I've been going lately I could hardly drink more) phases. They're always fun while they last, sometimes I wonder why I can't make them last longer. It's like deep down I have some overriding lazy gene that wins out over everything my brain thinks. But the last 6 months or so have seen some pretty impressive excesses in almost every indulgent arena, so at least a little responsibility is called for. Plus I like being able to do chin ups again, I felt a bit...
