grows distant as the span of treachery we have crossed to get here

constant like gravity

that weight

pulling like drawn and quartered

compressed into the days of a life blinked twice goodbye

like a tin can at the bottom of the ocean

every passing moment so precious

that we forget to live it altogether

if we weren't too busy to see it pass anyway.
