The news about the bombings in Madrid is awful. I e-mailed my Spanish cousin in Brazil this morning, but it was undeliverable. We've got family in Madrid and Vigo. I hope everyone is alright.frown

Last night I freaked out about a lot of things that don't seem so important now. My dad was pissed off at me for making an appointment to see my therapist in Atlanta. As soon as I'm out of crisis, which I've been for quite a while now, he doesn't support my efforts to stay healthy. I think that must happen to a lot of people. Many people don't see the benefits of therapy, in spite of the recommendations of medical professionals. It's sad that getting help for mental health issues is difficult for so many people. My finances are terrible, so I was on the phone with my mom for about an hour trying to figure out how to improve my situation.

The advantage of having a good cry last night is that I feel much better this morning. I'm not depressed, I just had to get it all out. I'm all caught up on my school reading. I got 8 hours of sleep. In less than 24 hours, I'll be at home, on the couch, covered in dog hair, rubbing Sherlock's belly while he bellows at me. Life is good, for now.biggrin

Oh dear, I didn't know there were bombings in Madrid whatever I've got a bunch of friends living out there...

I'm "clinically depressed" at the moment. You wouldn't think it to look at me, but I have a lot of the symptoms... I've been depressed before, but this time I think I have caught it just in time before it gets out of control.

My doc has referred me to the counsellor, so I'm looking forward to getting crap off my chest. I think it's invaluable to be able to let go of your worries and anxiety to someone who is there specifically to listen.

Take care sweety kiss

i agree with you 100% on the mental health stuff.. and what's worse... texas does not have any kind of program where people can get cheap or free mental health counseling. i mean forget it if you need meds... nobody's paying! the only way to get $ out of this state... be pregnant or have kids! how about they start paying for birth control pills for people who can't afford them... uh instead of paying for the effect of NOT paying for them. ug! don't even get me started!!
enjoy your rub.. i'm sure sherlock will! biggrin

Wow, i hadn't heard of the terrorism in Spain until just now. Read the article, read about the blast, then read up on the history of the ETA. I'm glad public support for them is greatly waning... hopefully the spanish/french gov't will be able to prove it is their work, or even better, the ETA will claim it, then the public will really decry their horrible behavior. :\

Hope your kin and friends are safe.

hey, theres nothing wrong with therapy! I hear that a few sessions of cognative therapy can do wonders when a person is feeling a little depressed and negative.

speaking of negative, I know exactly what you mean about working out/losing weight. sometimes I feel like a "before" picture when I look in the mirror. talk about depressing! but, hey...I'll keep going to the gym if you will!

hope things keep looking up! kiss

See the thing about therapy is that most people wouldn't need it if everyone else wasn't such ass holes. Most of the time, all people want is someone to talk too. Either the depressed doesn't want to burden their friends with their problems (which if you ask me is the whole point of having friends), or the friends don't want to hear the depressed persons issues.

You litterally have to pay someone to do what a good friend should be there to do anyway.

People are dicks.
