We have had our difficult times, my dad and I, but I think living out here is helping us get to know eachother again. His card was very sweet! I appreciate every little bit of affection he gives me, because he doesn't tend to give a lot.I called my old job in Atlanta to talk to Samantha's doctor, and she said everyone loved the valentines I sent them, so that was good. They're all having a rough time at the clinic, which was good for me to hear so I don't fantasize about running back home to Atlanta anymore. I can be silly like that.
I got so much reading done for my classes last night, and I have plenty of time this weekend set aside for that, too, so I can finally catch up and feel like a good girl again.
If only my Sherlock was here, in all his droopiness, to sit on the sofa and bark at me.

i know what you mean about your dad... i didn't get to spend a lot of time with mine after my parents divorced. he wanted to see me, she didn't want him to. blah blah. then we totally lost touch and i didn't see him for like 10 years. he died about 2 years ago. now i spend a lot of time wishing i'd tried more, done things different. i have since realized it was him that should have done more though.
my point is - use all the time you have.

*hug* I been here. Sick though. I have an ulcer and it's been attacking me. 
Today was the first day back to the gym so I kinda made up for lost time. Ran over 7 miles and surpassed my max leg press weight.
Of course Saturday I'm gonna end up like Steven Hawkins from the pain but *shrug* I'll look DAMN fine.

That's awesome about getting to know your dad all over again. My father died about 10 years ago, and I wish I would have had the chance to do that too (my parents also divorced when I was small).
