I missed them at the Orange County fair, damn. Like hair metal, but I'm very selective - pretty much only the first tier of bands, not the mid-late '80s Zebra-striped-wearing yahoos. Good to hear of your enjoyment. (Well, Scorps got pigeoned-holed in the hair metal bin in the '80s, it seems.)

Never understood the glam metal/thrash rivalry, because, people in both genres were pretty much gettin' womenz after shows ... the basic catalyst for shit-slinging towards "cock-rock," from Metallica and the like, which reminds me about something my sister once said while I was listening to RATT. She's like, "Aww, he calls his penis 'love' - how sweet!" You were on the front lines, back in the day, though. Saw many a classic show, I'd imagine.

it's kinda funny, back in the day I was with all those elitists in the Bay Area when Thrash was moving up the scene that were anti-Los Angeles and the glam scene. Secretly, I did like a couple hair bands. When I got older in college, I didn't give a fudge about labels anymore. Whatever is good is good. I didn't care to voice that I did like MOTLEY CRUE, FASTER PUSSYCAT or VAIN.

Still in these days, I don't see that scene coming back. I don't think musicians in these times can recapture the licks and image back then. Nobody is that bold.

p.s. for me, when I grew up, the scene was JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPS and MAIDEN. When "Rock You Like A Hurricane" reared it's head, the SCORPS got lumped into that hair/cock rock category. Too bad when some think SCORPS, they think of stuff like "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "No One Like You," when there is their classic material with Ulrich Roth and Michael Schenker that puts 'em up with the greats.
