Strep And The Kiss-Denied
it's been Dr.-confirmed, my eldest li'l beastie has strep... poor thing.
the absolutely horrible part for my fuzzy darlin's is them being strictly denied from kissing (each other and others - since my youngest probably has it as well!). Humerously it wasn't long after they were dropped off that they came to me asking if licking was ok *laughs*... yehhh, had to give 'em a totally negatory on that one as well - and spitting, since knowing them it was bound to come up.
even had the ex give me a li'l "once-over" about if I happen to get sick/sore throat in the next week to hit the Dr./Urgent Care/whathaveyou ... told me how strep can lead to scarlet fever and severely affect my heart (which has been fubar'd since birth, as I reminded her laughingly), etc. etc. - and how she'll basically kick my rotting corpse's ass if I die on the girls! *smirks*
my poor eldest has been 'suffering dearly' from this lack of kissing
in the past 1/2hr she told me "it's so hard not to kiss, I want to kiss everybody, please?"
...I told her to try storing her kisses for when the strep is gone and then she can go crazy with the kisses - yeh, she wasn't too convinced (heh).
oh well. they're still energetic as all get out, I just gotta keep the kissing/licking/whathaveyou to an absolute zero - with these two lovebugs, that ain't an easy game and takes reminders!
[ and here's hopin' I don't end up catchin' it somehow ... the Urgent Care nurses already pretty much despise me and the one in particular has pretty much said she doesn't want t'see me there again until I "get a doctor" *shakes head/crosses fingers* ]
