Two weeks of music and trying to get used to going to shows by myself is coming to a close tomorrow. I’ve got a ticket for the opening night of Maryland Ensemble Theater’s “Planet Claire.” A musical based on the music of the B-52’s. I was part of the original crew on this show and I’m looking forward to seeing it again. The B-52’s will be in Baltimore and Vienna Virginia during the run. I really hope they see the show. They didn’t come in 2003. I’m just the audience this time, but there is a little piece of me in this production, or at least there was.
Alan Doyle from Great Big Sea is a Merry Man in the new Robin Hood movie, so I may go see that as well. They were in Cannes today.
Since the beginning of May:
Saw Sean McCann’s solo performance in Arlington Virginia with Alan and Murray Foster from Great Big Sea helping out I got to meet all of Great Big Sea except for Bob. That was unexpected.
Saw Great Big Sea play in Easton Maryland. Got to make a new friend at that show sang “I Don’t Like Mondays” out in the parking lot with her. That was fun.
Saw PIL at the 9:30 Club in DC. That was amazing.
Started my novel writing class this week. That is going to be rewarding and challenging… and frustrating and difficult….
