Greetings, humanoids. I have just recently returned from a grand adventure of archaeologying in the desert. My beard grew long and red during the process. At one point I was trapped inside this magic box:

Here I am again. Very exciting. This one was just prior to my desert excursion:

While in the desert, I was training from 2-5 hours an evening on my bike, preparing for the next season of racing at the San Diego velodrome. I think I wore myself out, as I came home sick and have had to take the last week off from training and working. My dog is happy about that, but I'm bored and a bit in the dumps. The desert was pretty awesome. I was working at Edwards Air Force Base, and there were all kinds of cool advanced aircraft overhead at most times. I saw the first flight of some new super stealth bomber/drone, some F-22s amd F-35s, and a bunch of F-16s and F-18s. I really like fighter jets for some reason. I guess because I grew up going to air shows and building models and what have you. People think they see UFOs a lot in that area. It's just the air force testing their advanced jets.
I have to move out of my awesome apartment by the end of this month. I'm having a really hard time finding a suitable place for Obi and me. Rent is so high right now in San Diego. My landlord is raising my rent to $1600(2 bedroom). I need to find a place for $1000 or less, hopefully with a yard and without shared walls. If I don't, I might move in with my parents and brother for a few months until things get settled and I can finally finish my thesis.
I've been watching Mad Men, and am almost through Season 4, and I must admit it's pretty damned good. I didn't think I'd like it, but it's really grown on me.
Well, it's 11 o'clock on a Saturday night, so you know what that means. I'm off to take Obi for a walk and then I'm gonna train for three hours like some kind of idiot.
Oh and the old hypochondriac in...
