Gramma came through surgery with flying colors.
Rehab is going to be interesting...I just hope they keep her meds as they were, apparently she's flourishing ever since they adjusted the dosage of Seroquel.
Anyway. I went to the opening night of Cirque du Soleil's "Alegria" on Randall's Island tonight, we had a wonderful time. I love getting VIP treatment on IBM. (My aunt is HMFIC of North American Marketing). So, among the VIPs there were Val Kilmer (I didn't see him, but our escort (!!) said he was expected), Benjamin Bratt...*swoons*
, Tom Selleck and Claire Danes! Those were the celebs we spotted...and in addition to the celebs there were a shitload of runway models, too.
I wonder if half of them look in the mirror prior to leaving their bunny hutches long enough to realize what the are wearing doesn't match. It was funny to see what degree of the ridiculous one model had to the next.
Most of them were dressed pretty nicely, but there were a few that I almost called the Fashion Police on. There was this one girl...she was really pretty, and had on this...erm...mess of shreds someone had convinced her was a dress...it was leopard print and floral and sparkly and god only knows what else...it looked like she had been wearing a leopard then had an unfortunate accident with a Cuisinart.
The show was a-freakin-mazing. I can't even begin to describe the performances. From the trapezes, to the dancers, the Russian beams, Fast track (I want one in my yard) and the musicians (holy freakin' wow) the amount of talent that was present on the stage really blew me away. I wasn't even afraid of the clowns like I usually am.
I have to work tomorrow after having the past two days off
so I should wrap this up.
es to the nice people and broken noses to the meanies.
