I'm back! I was going to update last night, but certain circumstances prevented that (which I'll go into later).
I got in Friday with no problem, and was greeted by three of my very good friends. Later that night, we were joined by a few more friends, and drank a bit. I didn't get nearly as drunk as I was planning on, as I had to protect myself from some unwanted advances by a certain married female.
I may not have had as much fun that night as I wanted, but at least I didn't end up doing something I know I'd regret.
Well, onto the next day. The wedding could not have been more perfect. The bride (my very dear friend) was absolutely gorgeous, and seeing her not only dropped my jaw to the floor, it almost brought a tear to my eye. The ceremony was very nice, and went on without any problems.
Also, one of her bridesmaids and her maid of honor were both individuals who I have (or had) been very close with over the past few years. The bridesmaid was an ex-girlfriend, and the maid of honor was a, how should I put this... the girlfriend that never was.
The reception had a few kinks, as the wedding party kept disappearing to chat with the guests. So, a few events were pushed back further than they were supposed to be, but there was a free bar, so no one was complaining, especially not me! I took a few pictures, but I'm rather disappointed with the quality and quantity of said pictures. Next time, I'm only letting sober people take pictures of me with other people! I just hope someone else got some good ones of me with my friends.
They had a dance in which you pay a dollar, get a shot, then get to dance with the bride, or groom, if you'd prefer. I paid my due, sucked down a shot of peach schnapps, then proceeded to dance with the bride to Extreme's "More Than Words", which happens to be a guilty pleasure of mine and the bride's.
The get-together after the reception was the best part, though. We all sat around a fire, sang & played songs, chatted, and drank the night away with the company of two kegs and two bottles of wine which were passed around the party. I spent most of the night talking with the maid of honor, and, to tell you the truth, I don't think I could have had a better time.
The next day I got to hang out with my best friend for a few hours, and check out his new apartment. Then, I went back to my mom's place with my brother, and ended the night there. I woke up Monday morning, and went to the airport. My flight was delayed 45 minutes, so I missed my connecting flight. I got stuck in the Detroit airport for a couple hours, so they gave me a voucher which I then used on a beer at the bar. Screw eating, I want to feel fuzzy! I finally got onto my final flight for the trip, and ended up meeting a really cool chick who was sitting next to me. She lives nearby, so I may run into her in the near future. I got back home about 3 hours later than planned, so I had no time to do anything, as I had to work today.
Well, that's about it. Here's a random thing I noticed. Whenever the new Morrisey song comes on the radio, the beginning makes me think it's Ted Nugent's "Fred Bear"... Am I the only one who hears it?

I actually love what I do, so the long days are no problem. The extra day off is just a fabulous bonus!
