Summer has ended, at least for me, and judging by the rain and cold that has started to creep across the UK it might be that Autumn is here to stay.
After a gloriously relaxing Bank holiday Monday last week, today brought the beginning of the school term where I work, so much orienting new students. Settled into another year of lecturing with a tried and true introductory survey.
Pluses: No one fell asleep. Its second nature and a bit of a lark.
Minuses: Tube Strike made the commute home to Oxford after work an absolute pain in the ass. 40 new students, all women, no men. Seriously, Art History Graduates, think about the skewed dynamic there. It's definitely going to be an interesting year.

And last but not least, a new The Birthday Massacre album out next Tuesday, it's been a few years and long overdue.
