First real BLOOOOOG! Tonight was a doozy. I have worked at the same place for years. I have dealt with a lot of bullshit. I do not like to complain, but wow.
I run a bar/music venue. If I were 25 again, it would have been the greatest night ever.
My night started with getting to work early for an all age show that really did not feel well from the get go. Five minutes into me getting there the police show up questioning me about how my "all age shows" work?!? I have been doing them for years. I explain, to the simplest of terms, that I am kissing your ass and the cities.
Should have went well beyond that, but hell no. I had a fight=no biggie. I break those up all the time without including the police.
I have never had to call an ambulance, but tonight some jackass decides they will "stage dive" into a crowd of no one. Mind you, there was over 100 people standing in the stage area, but some how he missed every able body to catch him.
While I am dealing with that. I decide it is time to kick out everyone who is under the age of 18. Which in this shitty little town is 11pm and a standard . Which is not that bad and if anything the kids in this scene understand. BUT traveling bands (that mind you are on stage) want to decide that they are going to play the we need to sell merch and the guy (me) that is being an ass(again me) is causing a problem....It is my bar...and my decisions.
Again, dealing with the police. Which are calling the ambulance for the jackass who may have broken his neck and definitely his face are now dealing with a merch guy and band member that I have pissed off.
They step outside of my bar and start yelling for the under 18 kids to "come the fuck back in". I explain that if you do not like my policies you do not need worry about coming back in. They approach the police with "can we speak to you?". Their case was to ask the police if it is ok to allow under age kids to hang out due to the fact the kids may be out to see their band or the following...
