not only did i send Morgan an "i was wrong and i am sorry" e-mail, for attacking her weeks ago on a thread.
i got informed that the feminest group was ripping me, in a thread seemingly made for that purpose, started my a staff member. when i joined to defend myself my posts were deleated and i was kicked out (of a public group) in which i think i made my case without ripping anyone or feminism.
the post that got deleated mainly consisted of this famous quote:
"First they came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for ME, but by that time, no one was left to speak up."
in response to someone sayind that men have no buisness even talking about abortion. like it doesn't effect men or something, lol. whatever. i was just making the point that rights are rights and they effect us all. they all fall under "freedom" and that comments like those they were making is only reinforcing the man-hating image that feminists have. that they are only driving people away with thier closeminded, sexist, elitist attitudes
the closemindedness of this site amazes me sometimes, especially from staff and longtime members.
it is not right at all.
why is it that i can like and get along with most people that i argue and disagree with, yet THEY hate me for only disagreeing with a small part of what they are saying.
should you only preach to the choir? isn't converting people to your side what makes a movement grow? standing up to the oposition? debate and open discution?
...or sitting around complaining and agreeing with eachother?
