So im really attempting in the coming months to become more familiar with my camera and photography in general. Its always been something thats held my interest but now that i have a good SLR i feel like in can start doing something. The only problem i really seem to be running into is that i can never get close enough for a good shot, which is why i figured i could invest in a nice telephoto lens. Currently I have an 18mm-55mm lens for my Nikon D3100, but that doesn't really seem to be doing the trick for the photos I try and take. If anyone has any suggestions on a good lens or even just some tips for a beginner like myself, that would be awesome. Until then Ill continue to read forums and hunt through book stores
