Hope all the most kick ass mamas I know have had a great Mother's Day!

It's been a very long weekend, with more time spent working than home, so I spent most of today with my little one and some family. Ithras has been at work too, and has training all next week. Hoping to sneak in a little visit with him tonight after the tiny one goes to bed.

Pregnancy is moving along at an amazing rate. Only two months or so to go. It feels like I just found out I was expecting again. The whole thing is very surreal. It's also getting a bit stressful as I've started running short on time, but still have a number of projects I want to get finished before the new arrival decides to come.

My energy is starting to run a bit short and I have three garden beds that I need to plant now, but haven't gotten to. My front porch is loaded with seedlings that need to move into the garden. Soon. I keep telling myself that at least. Good food is a strong motivator though, so hopefully I'll get to it this week.

Had some crazy storms here last night, though we were not hit anywhere near as badly as other areas. The damage was limited to some wind damage that was mostly limited to downed trees and limbs. Those in the direct path of the storm weren't so lucky. I heard Catoosa County, GA was looking for volunteers to help sift through debris and look for survivors this morning, but haven't found anything solid to confirm that.

On a lighter note, my baby turns two tomorrow. I can't believe how time has flown. It doesn't seem like it's been a year, much less two! She is so tall already, blonde by some odd trick of genetics, increasingly chatty, a whirlwind of energy, and way too smart for her own good. She's my little helper and the best exercise plan I could have ever imagined. She loves trains, purses, and mud puddles. love

The hubby was kind enough to put together a few more raised beds for the garden this week. Have a bunch of new seedlings getting ready for transplanting and will hopefully get that done this weekend. The new beds are sized to fit the chicken tractor we've been working on building. Hoping to finish that project up this weekend as well, especially since our fluffy little spring chicks are fluffy no longer and nearly ready to be moved into their new home.

It's been a crazy few weeks. Went to Savannah for a friend's wedding and got to go to the beach with the hubs for our anniversary (9 years? seriously? I do not feel old enough to have been with anyone for almost a decade).

Our car finally kicked the bucket on the way home, but managed to buy a much nicer replacement for less than it was going to cost to replace our junker. Got carded to test drive the new car because the previous owner insisted he thought I was 18-19 and his insurance would only cover me driving if I was over 21. I'm beyond flattered, but I've been getting that a lot lately. Pregnancy hormones be kind, it seems.

The belly bean is still doing great. Had a checkup today and we are both doing wonderfully. Little one seems to be getting ever more excited about being a big sister.

We have added a few chickens to our little homestead. Looking forward to farm fresh eggs from happy, pasture ranging chickens later this year. The goats are enjoying some spring pasture at a neighbor's place while we get their space set up at our new home. Our little market garden is growing at a pretty decent rate. The lot here is a bit shadier than our previous home, so I'm doing some experimenting to see what I can grow where. We also have a little less space, so trying out some more vertical growing techniques with reclaimed materials. The move kind of screwed up our food supply, so I'm very eager to get everything set back up.

Everything has been so busy. I feel like I need to get everything possible done before the baby arrives so I can take it easy for a bit after that. I've been very much neglecting everything except work and home. Hoping to get at least somewhat caught up soon. My to do list is finally getting shorter, so I'm on the right path. To those who might read this and have been on the wrong side of my all work, no play approach lately, ♥ you, miss you, and sorry I've been out of touch.kiss

Pretty much moved into the new place, at least to the point of being able to live there. Still need to get the hub's desk and computer set up and get books and movies and all that here (though I've been surprised how little I've noticed the lack of screen media here, except my computer, unless someone mentions it). I love how neat and clean everything stays with so little here. I'm seriously considering donating to Goodwill a large portion of what has not yet been moved and unpacked.

Making progress towards getting into the new place. I have figured out what my minimum requirements are to be willing to move in and we've almost met them. I need:
-Clean (my requirements here might be a wee bit obsessive, but I'm trying to be open minded and understanding that this will be relative as long as there is active construction going on in some part of the same structure)
-Secure (pretty much there on this one now)
-Functional bath and kitchen (neither are pretty, but we're getting close to being clean and basically functional)
-A place to sleep and internet access (so it's a mattress on the floor until everything comes out of storage, but I can sleep on it, and we should have broadband by tomorrow afternoon).

Then I can worry about other work that needs to be done and how to get the creepy, nosy neighbors to stop staring at me while I wash windows....

Haven't updated for awhile, so here goes one.

Hubs and I are expecting kiddo number two. This pregnancy is infinitely easier than last time around and I'm feeling great, looking forward to a quick, easy delivery, and hoping his/her big sister handles the adjustment well.

Working on a garden plan for this year. We're about to move, again, so that will involve building new beds and, depending on how transplanting goes, possibly planting a new round of perennials.

Work has been a bit on the crazy side, and I'm trying to make a concerted effort to pick a few things and refocus my efforts only on those areas. I'm hoping that will help with the feeling of being completely stretched thin and constantly fighting to get everything I need to do done.

And that, essentially, is the last two months in a nutshell.

The funny thing about being a really tall girl: if I lose a few pounds I get told I should be a model, but if I gain a few it becomes "You should play basketball".
