today's fembot nugget brought to to you, as usual, by fembot1.

we were out for a walk and saw a hammock in front of someone's house.

her: "what's that?"
me: "a hammock"
her: "what's it for?"
me: "you lay in it. I'm gonna put one between our trees once I finish taking the pool out"
her: "I'm gonna lay in it all the time"
me: "no, actually, I am"
her: "I'm faster than you"
me: "yeah but I'll just hang it high enough that you can't climb into it"
her: "well I'll cut a hole in it so you can't lay in it!"

she definitely has her father's way with snappy comebacks.

I'm so proud biggrin

one of my aunts won $315,000.00 on her first pull on a slot machine at a casino last week.

I guess good things DO happen to good people once in a while. who knew...

EDIT #2 (instead of a new post on the same day):

note to self: in the future, when beginning to somewhat-violently dismantle an outdoor wooden structure, it might be wise to do a quick check first to see if any wasp nests are hidden there-in.

one swarm and six stings later, we'll call that one a lesson learned the hard way.

as a side note, I now have a fairly good idea what a nipple piercing would feel like.

at least I'm not allergic

we now return to the original post:

hope these aren't too big to fit the columns here, but this is what happens when someone with a NICE camera decides to take pics of the fembots:

EDIT: yup, some of em are too big. go to my "family & stuff" album if you wanna see the full pics.

as you can see both above and below, fembot1 has about the same disposition toward group/family photos as I used to when I was younger...

and now, in a rare moment, all of us in one picture (rare b/c one of us usually has to TAKE the picture):

so, I have a birthday coming up in September. I know I know, it's a couple months away... BUT I figured some advance warning on this might be good. see, I've had my eye on these.

more specifically, there are four of them I would really like. so, if any friends happen to be feeling generous in a couple months' time, I'd really really really really really like the black one, the blue one (NOT the indigo one), the green one and, perhaps most appropriately considering I'm posting this here, the orange one.

alternatively, donations to the new-ink-fund would be equally appreciated biggrin

(chastise me all you want for doing this, but girls get away with gift-shilling around here all the time so I figured I may as well give it a shot tongue )

after today I can make a strong argument for making a living doing something that involves some kind of physical labor, rather than sitting in a chair talking to people like my current excuse for a "job" entails.

I mean, I'm fucking exhausted and probably shouldn't have exerted myself as much as I did in this kind of heat... BUT, I began the pool demolition today, and I haven't felt tired in a GOOD way like this for the longest time. see, I have trouble motivating myself into physical activity for it's own sake - if I don't see a PRACTICAL reason for it I won't do it just because (i.e. before I started working at home I used to cycle to work when weather permitted due to our lack of a vehicle - but the exercise was just an added benefit)... so having a "goal" or "purpose" like "hey, someone's gonna PAY me for doing this" might just be the ticket.

not that having a good reason to smash shit repeatedly with a hammer doesn't have it's own rewards, mind you wink

sleeping on a floor (well, a futon mattress on the floor, but still) with 5 year old + said 5 year old waking up to chat every half-hour + 5 hours of driving the following day = very tiiiiiired Skullgrid.

hope everyone had a good weekend. mine was pretty good but, as described above, also tiring.

off to Halifax for the weekend so I won't be around here as much as usual.

so, out of ALL of these possible side effects of Effexor, apparently the ONLY one I get to contend with is the lovely "increased sweating".

yay me. especially in this weather. ugh.

note to self: forgetting to take Effexor two days in a row = fun times for no one.

dizziness, nausea and bum-puke, oh my. puke
