Goodness have I become borning?

Nah. Probably just nesting.

Work is good, not great, good. The food is nothing to be ashamed of, but the batches are too big and the tendancy is to prep 3 days in advance. Which is fine, except that it's summer and I would like to see muc h more fresh produce. The money is right, and I don't want to fuck off my first job in the UK. I'll focus on the positive, like the jolly pirate crew (one of the most debauched I've seen) and just enjoy the life involved in kitchen work.

I haven't been out much, not a lot of money, you see -- also I'm enjoying making home mine again, getting my sleeping back on track and dealing with the fact that I'm tired all the time because I haven't worked in awhile. Give it a week or so...

I did have a crazy weekend last weekend. Verdict: yes I can live here. I might even enjoy it.

Boring? Never, my man. I think after the last year, being at rest might be a bit freakish for y'all.

And why didn't you get married in that tux? Maybe for the five-year anniversary?

Thank you. smile

The Neil Young quote this week seems to be a popular one. I never realised there were so many of his fans lurking on here!

I think my problems with ME first started around 9 years ago around exam time when I was in my last year or so of high school. Was sleeping 18 hours a day then and have suffered on and off with varying degrees until the present.

I'm surprised to hear that you would like more fresh produce to work with. Fresh and local seems to be very 'in' amongst consumers and chefs right now, but the more the better, I suppose!

See, the Indian slant on sea bass sounds like a good modern twist on British food. I like and appreciate clever twists like that, but spring rolls... come on! I'm not even a chef and that makes me angry. Everything in its place, eh?

I never knew about that particular nugget of music trivia - so thank you again!

My thyroid was one of the first things doctors checked out on me, it was underactive for a time, but it apparently corrected itself not so long after. I've not had much luck with the medical profession and getting answers or help, most of them seem to be reluctant to diagnose ME and only suggest. Though a doctor from the DWP I spoke to a few years ago spoke to me for ten minutes about it and had no doubt in his mind it was ME.

God, I'd really love to have a go at trimming down that menu. Shh. One of my long-term guilty pleasures is that I love menu planning.

But yeah, definite identity crisis - like British vs. Asian vs. Continental European.

It still made my tummy rumble, though. wink

I'm hoping that in not too long I'll have a job to distract me for a while and then I can focus on the fun bit - moving!
