I'm a geek.
So i don't own a stereo. I'm a loser. I had one once, but it broke, and I never got around to replacing it. This means the only time I listen to music is when I go bike riding with the iPod.
But, Chloe, Missy, Veronica and I have downloaded about five million mp3s to a computer in the office. A computer, of course, with shitty computer speakers.
In the living room, though, I do have a nice DVD player, with surround sound and nice speakers, it's not quite as good quality as a stereo, but it does have an audio input in the back. So I got some really long rca cables and ran a line from Chloe's desktop G4 in the office to the living room dvd player, and voila, anything she plays in itunes comes out of the dvd player in the living room, in the nice surround sound speakers.
Nice, but a pain in the ass. Now if I'm sitting on the couch in the living room, I have to go to the office to pick and play a song. So I did a little research and found this cool little app called netTunes, which allows me to control the itunes on Chloe's computer from any Mac in the house. So now I'm sitting on the couch in the living room, using itunes on my powerbook to play mp3s from Chloe's computer in the office to the nice speakers in the living room through my dvd player.
I share this with you, because my last great technological victory, the one where I rigged the tivo to be accesible on any tv in SGHQ went undocumented although greatly apreciated by missy.
I think maybe I need a hobby. Or a girlfriend. Or maybe a third job. Or a murder rap to beat. Whoops.
