Barry Lopez is who said the quote. He is an author although admittedly, I have not read any of his works. The quote came to me from a friend. smile

ha! thanks! i dunno about prints lol, but i'm definitely stoked with how it turned out smile

and yeah, it's more of a geographic inability to do so that keeps me from going to these events. if i move where i'm considering moving to in the near future however, that will become far less of an issue smile

it is not quite evening,
though the storm's rage
lays darkness over my bedroom.
i do not mind.
flickering candlelight,
a dismal film of grey
filtering through curtains
(diaphanous and black),
all that remains.
suddenly the rain maddens,
inflaming the wind.
the globe warms, her heart bleeds.
a bird trembles in it's nest.
i am delicately adjusting a skeleton's fingertips
when thunder strikes
as though...

journal tidbits..

four a.m.
watching one of the ants
who dwells in the left-hand column on my front porch,
(i imagine the most frail yet elegant staircase spiraling within)
scurrying with frantic instinct,
it's tiniest of shadows
the object of the chase.
i am endeared by the little fellow's moxie.
it seems this is precisely what so many are doing,
chasing something
that is impossible...

Hey Rexx!

The second half of that poem is gorgeous, the real keeper. Though I do love this line: "(i imagine the most frail yet elegant staircase spiraling within)"

You're absolutely right, too: floating in the lack of surety is exactly what's called for. Finding a new way to relate to everything and everyone without pushing it too hard, demanding too much.

It's great to see you're still here, making beauty with words and photos. And saying things like "feel sexy," which is probably the kind of advice you ought to be paid for doling out. smile

P.S. that cinnamon-bun-and-bacon sandwich is just ... just too ridiculous.
praesepe:
i'm loving your mentality dear lil one : ]
and your face, as always.
thanks for sharing your words pretty

Coffee and books. Does it get any better?

Well, bacon is bacon! Kinda reminds me of liver, though. Song you posted reminds me of "Place of Many Deaths" by MA.

One of their best songs, imo.

hi there, sexy people of the world. kiss

i have had many days free from work in the past two weeks and i am feeling quite refreshed. quite like myself.

frightening how easily these most important rights as earthly beings slip away when one must dole out just too much time each day to "the man". just ever so slightly too much. who decided upon forty...

Somewhere new and different really. I've only lived in Colorado a year but I'm thinking it would be great to go a few places to figure out where i really want to end up when it comes time to start a career. preferably somewhere its nice-ish year round.

hello, love kittens. kiss

currently listening to: earth - pentastar: in the style of demons

i am simply lying here enjoying the evening sun.
i will probably remain so,
soaking up every last drop
until i find myself immersed in darkness
with only the hum of the air-conditioning unit to keep me company.

i have been enjoying lots of long walks filled with good music

a very small chid is screaming directly in front of my house.
i actually got up from my comfy couch perch to make sure the incessant wails were human
because after a few minutes i started questioning whether it were a duck being strangled..
luckily it was only an infant, a fresh addition to this twirling world,
come to join in the infinite scream of...

I've done something with the penis game from (500) Days of Summer. Where you just keep screaming penis louder and louder until the other person gets embarrassed and stops. Amazing pics! As always. Love me some cookies.

hey baby kiss

it is an absolutely radiant spring day.
the grass and dandelions of my odd, slanted yard are comically overgrown,
to be fussed over another day.
for now the sun's tender bugs float and twirl all about it,
i am lying belly-down in bed, window wide open, twirling my wavy strands
wiggling my toes, just letting myself be dazzled by their jungle ballet.
(and...
