Just read the article, it was excellent. I loved Music To Start A Cult To. I can't believe I haven't picked up Cultivation yet. A friend of mine told be not to bother picking it up, stating it was "over-produced". However, your article has convinced me that I was wrong to listen to that windbag.
Also, thank you for mentioning Joni Mitchell. I believe she is the most overlooked artist of the 70's, if not ever. Not only was she perhaps the finest musician of her time, but also an excellent producer. Listen to Hejira or The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, it's hard to believe they were produced in the mid 70's. They sound so crisp and alive. She was always well ahead of her time.
hey, thanks so much for your reply! i will try missy but she is such a busy woman...
hope your holiday season has been thoroughly enjoyable and best wishes for the coming year xox
i'm so glad other people have seen it too!! apparently they've been showing it a bunch. I FREAKING LOVED IT. Every segment of that show blew my mind. The parrot!! That was incredible!
So I've been working on talking to my chihuahua more. Right now she's licking her butt. What do you think she's trying to convey?
Great piece. Love the opening line: "I awaken in the morning to find that my savagely dehydrated body is covered with the scrawling text of a Sharpie marker."
I love opening lines that smack you in the face.
Great hangin' out last night too! You are too cool.
Chris
