So one of my co-worker's had a death in the family. His mom to be exact and my department got a card for everyone to sign. I stared at this card trying to figure of what to write that actually personal and sincere and without repeating something someone already said or repeating typical things you would say.
Then I remembered something - I had written a poem back in 2007 for a boyfriend at the time - his mother had passed away a couple of months before we started dating. So I wrote this poem called Halo about a mother watching over her child and telling that child/adult that it was all going to be ok and that death is not the end of life.
So I ended up being the rebound GF I guess to help him get over his sorrows - and this freaking guy - I should have know - did not appreciate the freaking poem - he looked at me like I was crazy!!!
I believe in karma - and I believe sometimes things do happen for a reason - with my co-worker - I realized that my poem was meant for people like him. Not my stupid ex - I did not write that poem for him or about him in the long run - it was to help comfort others.
So I say to that NYC slash Hempstead ex - SUCK IT!!! Other's will appreciate what you did not!!!
And that is the reason for that particular poem.
