Happy Birthday to Me!

Thought it was about time for a new blog. So here goes:

If you didn't already know, I ended up making it to 4th place on the latest season of The Pickup Artist (my elimination being one of the show's controversies).

I went down to LA to spend the first weekend of December with the guys (It was supposed to be Finale Weekend, but VH1 pulled the air date forward a week). Not to have our fun ruined, we got together and had fun anyways.

While in LA, I met a neat girl and had my first makeout. The other guys acted as my personal paparazzi and got photos. Of course, it's nice to have mementos of major milestones - but I hope all my firsts aren't recorded for posterity.

Unfortunately, because Nella had to work at 4am each day, I didn't get to hang out with her again while I was down there - but we did talk on the phone several times.

I hosted a party on the 12th for a local promotions company - getting paid to party is always fun. Granted, it was a bit of a sausage fest, but I did manage to meet some interesting girls to hang out with.

I technically quit my job. After 6.5 years at EB, I know that it's not going to be conducive to persuing my acting or having a social life. I say technically, because I've been continuing to work a day or two each week to ease trouble there through the holidays (else they'd only have two key holders). This has allowed me more freedom for that Life thing I've heard so much about.

I did an ad for the Oregon lottery that should be airing in January/February as part of the 'Knight of Fun' campaign - I play an executive conscripted into hanging out with the boss after work. It was fun to do and not bad money, I look forward to seeing it.

My buddy Knack (one of the off-screen teachers from the show) has offered me some free training. Since I know we share similar values (and, thus, know I can trust him), I'm planning on spending February crashing at his place in DC to polish off some of the rough edges (and regain lost momentum).
Another PUA company had offered me a similar deal, but they wanted my unquestioning obedience (they doubted my resolve) and I doubted their morality (it's not what you do for me, so much as why you do it) - so I figured it wouldn't be a good fit. If I'm gonna continue to grow, I have to doing things because I want to - not because somebody else says I'm supposed to.

When I get back in March, I'm getting me a new job (most likely as a Waiter at this point) and moving out on my own ASAP (no point paying for rent if I'm gonna be out of town for a month).
