Holy Shit! I'm going to Comic Con. How many Jokers are we going to see this year? Will my goatee reach Dr. Venture stature in time? Will Dr. Steel raid Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible panel? How many Drs are we going to see? Will anybody give a shit about the X-Files movie? (Pretty sure I won't) Can I get away with calling in sick on Friday? Will the Watchmen panel restore my hope in humanity or compact it further into a tiny cube of hate?

Somehow, without me fully realizing it, a lot of my friends are going to this thing, regularly. When I count, it's around 15. By that point, I know I'm missing somebody or I'll be surprised and bump into somebody I haven't thought about in years. I'm no longer the one guy heading down on the surfliner. Over the years half of my con experience has become yelling into a cell phone trying to find a needle in a nerd stack. We'll see how good that goes this year.

The Comedians of Comedy's last show is on Saturday night, just down the street. I can't believe how appropriate it all is.

I guess I'll bring business cards, but I don't really have anything to push. I've struck a deal with a comic strip artist to adapt a 1000 word story I wrote awhile back. I like his style, plus it's a quick job. If it works out, maybe we'll do more, but i don't want to overshadow his main thing. More on this story as it develops.
