Heading out of town for a weekend in New Orleans with my wife.
Look out French Quarter.
Gonna eat some good food and see the sites and have some fun.
Monday evening will be spent in the Superdome rooting for my LSU Tigers to destroy Ohio State.
Geaux Tigers!

Well I haven't posted a new blog in three months so I figure it's time.
I've been enjoying the latest sets very much. Seems like they are getting better and better in general. (though there are definitely many many great older sets as well)
I'm also enjoying talking with more and more people on here. So many different personalities and opinions.
Here's a conversation I had with my wife recently that I thought was interesting.
We were discussing needs in a relationship.
I have a need to FEEL needed. She said that she is afraid to need someone for fear that they won't meet that need.
My opinion is that even if the person you care about isn't always able to be there for your specific needs that shouldn't prevent you from showing your need.
Communication of what you are feeling and wanting is often lacking because of pride or shame or fear or any number of things. That's a shame because when feelings aren't expressed they can't be addressed.
Of course, I am guilty of the same thing. Don't think I'm saying I'm better than that. We all have our reasons for hiding our true feelings. Just saying it'd be nice if we could all get past those things and be open with those we care about.

Well, apparently my last blog was a failure. ha. Oh well, thanks to those who did comment on the subject.
I've become a little disappointed in the general temperment of many members on the site.
It seems a large number of those here like to project themselves as being open-minded, forward thinking individuals. The majority seem to view themselves as liberal and accepting of others. Diverse, perhaps.
But I've found that with many, any opinion that does not fit in with their line of thinking is immediately dismissed and often attacked. When I've posed questions to others in an attempt to understand their viewpoint, I've had the posts deleted. It was as if they thought it was rude to even think about questioning their views.
How is it that those who portray themselves as being accepting and inclusive are seemingly among the most closed-minded and unwilling to discuss alternative viewpoints?
I suppose I should not expect any replies from those included in this category, since it's apparent that they are unwilling to discuss issues with those who don't fall in line behind them in their views.
Thus, if you ARE inclined to share your thoughts on this issue, it's likely that you are not one under consideration.
But all thoughts are welcome. I promise not to delete anyone who questions me.

You know...this site is filled with beautiful women. Both the SGs and the members.
But I am absolutely shocked at the number of them that smoke. *sigh*
It is really sad.
I'm not trying to tell anyone they don't have a right to do what they want. But I really do not understand what possible reason anyone could have to smoke.
I'm in the medical field and I see people every day that are smokers. I see their chest x-rays. I see their VQ lung scans. I see their Chest CTs. I see their pulmonary function tests. I see their yellow fingernails and teeth. I see their prematurely wrinkled skin. I see the reports of their cancer markers. I see the oxygen tanks they are forced to carry with them everywhere they go. I've seen numerous autopsies of smokers and compared their lungs to non-smokers. I hear their croaking voices. I see their tracheal tubes. I see and talk to their crying family members being told that their loved ones are dying at an early age.
And I see young beautiful, seemingly intelligent people choosing to do this to themselves.
I don't understand it.
Can someone explain it to me?

The blog about nothing...
Mostly I enjoy just surfing the site and commenting on other people's pages and having discussions with whoever feels like talking.
I don't really expect anyone to even look at my profile since I'm just some old married guy and most people here are pretty young. But I thought I'd put this up just in case anyone found their way here so if they did want to strike up a conversation with me about anything they'd have a place to do it.
Maybe I should post why I'm even on the site to begin with since I'm a happily married guy.
Well the most obvious reason is I find the SGs exceptionally hot. That's a shocker, hrm? ha.
But also it's a cool place to talk with people from all over the world that have a wide array of opinions on all types of issues. That's probably what will keep me around more than anything. I'm full of opinions that I love to share. lol I may disagree with you, but if we only talked with people we agreed with, then nobody would ever grow as a person.
OK...now I'll post this and sit back and watch the comments FLY in. haha...seriously I don't expect to get any comments, but feel free if you have the inclination.
