Wanted the new one to be a comic update..but I'm both busy and lazy at the same time...really
(Need to write me a cover letter too to go with the resume I keep sending out)
Hit Wizard World on Saturday which was definitely fun. Came away with comics. Mostly from artists' alley and a few from the Top Shelf booth (which had a lot of the creators hanging out there). So, got stuff I bought signed, for the most part. Bought some Warren Ellis books at the Avatar booth, they gave me an "express" signing line ticket for a little later on..so, what the heck, I got 'em signed..and embarrassingly gushed to the guy about how much I enjoy his work.
The reading and Q and A with him Friday night was also fun.
Years ago, I also got a Harley Quinn plushie at the con. Paul Dini was there that same year, got him to sign her butt. So, this year I figured I'd bring it along since I knew Alan Burnett and Bruce Timm were gonna be there. Alan Burnett was at the DC booth for a bit, so he signed her, but Timm wasn't signing until Sunday when I couldn't be there...oh well.
Stopped by the SG booth a couple times to say hi to those I recognized and have talked to at least a little bit. Was pretty busy there, and I was introducing myself to Dorsal for the first time..and..it was just different than, say, meeting an SG at a gathering in a bar or at a party...I don't know...felt more awkward and apprehensive about it at the con' if that makes sense.
Let's see..killed some time and took a rest at the Image Founder's Panel ('cause a colorist panel in the Wizard School room was canceled)
Then I got to see Gotham Knight (think something like the Animatrix, only with Batman) which was pretty cool, but not an ideal viewing experience. Everyone was packed in like sardines, and it was a pretty dark print. Despite those factors, I look forward to picking up the DVD.
The Q and A afterward was kind of dumb...unfortunately, didn't have any good questions to ask.then again, those who went...
