So i went out and bought a sweet ass denim jacket last night. There's something that makes one feel kind of old when you remember denim jackets being cool, then lame and now i guess they're cool again.

I then met up with my friends at a local bar and when i walked in my friends said: "What's up Mr. 80s?" Also, there was this girl standing near me with Joan Jett hair and kind of an 80's look too.

Pointing to her, my friend Dave says to me: "Dan, if this was a Pat Benetar video, you and that girl would walk out of the bar with each other at the end of the night...after some choreographed dancing that is." Haha...but alas i wasn't really attracted to her except when the beer goggles kicked in. Funny how that happens.

I'm making some grilled portabello mushroom today with this recipe here. I hope substituting olive oil for canola oil will still turn out ok. I'm really looking forward to this...my most adventuresome meal to date. I wonder what veggies would go well with that? I'm thinking steamed carrots, colliflower, and broccoli.

UPDATE--the best part of the dinner was the steamed veggies. If i make that recipe again, i should use less vinegar...particularly in light of the fact that i don't like vinegar. Also, i have a lunch date with Carrie tomorrow. Mad Mex...i figure i'll have the veggie toquitos as those things are AWESOME! Wish me luck.

Well i'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball. Peace

Would you believe that I've been wearing the same denim jacket for the past ten years? I'm going to be really pissed when it finally falls apart.

heh. Out like a fat kid.

Had I research to do on the thesis, I'm sure that thought would be going through my head every three weeks.

Re: PROM

The details haven't ben settled yet, since I just posed the idea to the group, but I'm thiking we'd drive up there the day before around late morning/early afternoon. I need to see how many people are going to go first and figure out if we're gonna rent cars or take our own.
I want to have everything nailed down soon though. That way we can reserve hotels together and get a good group discount.
I'll keep you in the loop if you're interested though.

You bastard. wink

Yeah, HALO is very, very good. I've been stuck on Knights of the Old Republic lately, though. The Dark Side has been very, very good to me. skull

Heh, heh. Denim jackets were only lame immediately after the late 80s, when people realized that using Bic pens to draw Poison or Metallica logos on them wasn't cool after all. surreal

don't worry, they won't be spicey!
even though i loooove hot things. i have managed to develop a pretty good tolerance to spicy food. which is good as i'll be in bangkok in about a week. that's interesting what you said about your tastes changing. personally i find i am able to appreciate more subtle flavors than i did when i ate meat.
nothing special you need to bring, unless you want to wink
and the birthday party is for Alisa *and* me, and it's also fallenicarus's birthday as well! so kind of a triple bday.

i only marinate them in olive oil before i grill them though... i sprinkle some balsamic on afterwards.

Apparently the use of it involves contractions, deep breathing, and proper positioning.
