This week was kinda weird...

For some reason after my crazy last weekend road trip of road trips, i had made the decision to finally ask out this regular customer at work. I've been attracted to her for quite a while now and finally i decided to ask her out the next time i saw her which was quite often as she is, like i said, a regular there. I thought it would be easy seeing her b/c i was working a lot of hours during the time she would typically come in but all week, NOTHING.

So today i'm having a hellish workday as i'm working with Waste-of-space (new dipshit at work) and thinking to myself: "Self, just your luck isn't it? When you finally make up your mind to take the plunge, she's not around to plunge for." No sooner had this thought occured than she walks in the door and the perfect scenario i've envisioned for asking her out ensues.

I'm alone on the floor, she walks in alone and we make a lil small talk. I'm thinking it's now or never when i just blurt out, "So Carrie, would you like to go out sometime?"

She replies with a wonderfully baffled look on her face, "Sure." YAAAAAY!!!

I guess my question and the way i brought it up so non-chalantly took her by surprise. Anyways it's all good....now to call her and find the time as she's away for the weekend in Indiana.

Questions of the Day of the Journal:

1) Good first date suggestions? *note, going out for Coffee is a bit rediculous as i work in a coffee shop.

2) What do you do when you're a member of a club where you like many of the people who are members, but find out that many of the people running the show are assholes and treat some like shit? I wouldn't really have a way of keeping in touch with the cool peepz otherwise, but my ethics and wants are at odds here. I could ignore it and continue having fun or i could leave and miss all the good stuff.... Decisions, decisions.

urm.. I justread an article somewhere.. oh yeah.. at hte beautician.. that lunch dates are quite cool... no pressure.. during theday.. and theres a set time limit (ie she has to go back to work) so you can relaz heaps... and then you get more wound up about seeing them the next time because you had that snippit of a date...it also makes like the dinner date heaps better because you've already made a bit of small talk and you're more relaxed with each other...

I dont know.. if thats true.. but it seemed sensible to me..

I've never dated so I cant tell you...

2) dude... I'll write you an email...

That's Great!! I'm so happy for you..I hope the date goes well sweetie.

1. Cook the girl dinner, it shows how sweet you can be plus everyone needs to eat.

2. You and the cool peeps should start your own club then.

1. Museums and the like seem to work well. Cheap (often free), lots of opportunity for conversation, and even more than a few place to steal off to for more intimate concerns.

2. Not a clue. The selfish part of me would want to say to just continue as long as you aren't being treating badly. But that's not really good. I don't know.

the top is actually a shadow of vader's helmet, that part of the design was a poster for the re-release of Jedi. it's hard to pick out though. it still needs to be outlined and have the white and yellow highlights put in.

She's right about the lunch date-- those are the best, especially with someone you haven't spent a lot of time with in the past. It'll show her you are relaxed and comfortable, whereas offering to cook her dinner on a first date, especially when you asked her so non-chalantly, looks a bit overzealous. smile

As for the club, do the people you like feel the same about the leadership? If so, that could have a big impact on your actions.

(not the journal, the post in mine! haha!) a great first date is a walk. as long as it's nice, then if it's a little cold you can, you know, help her warm up...(with a HUG! keep your mind out of the gutter!!) haha. but the lunch date is good also. maybe a walk is a little too romantic...ah, what do i know, i'm so not romantic. i have boobs, that's how i get the men.

yeah lunch sounds good, but I havent eaten yet today so I could be wrong. I usually just ask them to a movie that way we have before and after the movie to talk and something in the middle to talk about that we have experienced together.
