About Me

My friends and family call me Marty, but I don't have many of those so most people call me... other things. I grew up wanting to be a fighter pilot, but was held back from my dreams by various circumstances, not the least of which has been my autism. I worked for 11 years in hospitality, where I completed training as a chef, and now I'm studying journalism at university, trying to actually make something of my life at the age of 29 (soon to be 30 - ick). I've been told I look young for my age, but I feel much older. I'm quite jaded, perhaps even depressing to have a conversation with at times, but I try not to be. It just kinda happens.

I'm smart... IQ 127. Not genius, but probably not accurate, either, because I learn new things incredibly quickly. Anyone that gets to know me discovers I have a unique perspective on life that, to anyone that doesn't get to know me, may seem a bit pompous, but I'm always honest, nothing more and nothing less. I don't pretend to be, or try to be, better than anyone else, but I always try to better myself in any way that I can
