First things first- this is the first "diet" I've been on and I'm doing it for two reasons: supplementing my gym activity (adding definition) and as a personal challenge.
Ok, so today's the first day of my 2-3 week ultra-low carb diet. An idea I've seen my buddy Josh successfully turn into some great definition. A friend of mine just started this diet, so in an act of solidarity, I decided to tag along.
The rules? Less then 30g of net carbs (so carbs that aren't in the form of fiber).
Here's what I ate today (wow I can't believe you're still reading this):
6 Protein shakes
1 huge ass can of tuna
1/2 a bag of spinach
3 fat-free cheese slices
1 thumb-sized piece of trail-mix-granola-thingy
1 scoop of peanut butter
250 ml of egg whites
1 rice-cake
1 shit-ton of water
That's:
33 grams of carbs (I shouldn't have eaten the rice cake I had left from yesterday- I'd have hit 30g if I skipped it).
19 grams of fat
1338 calories
266 grams of protein
Wow! That's fucking sweet! Sure I'm hungry, but after 2-3 weeks I'll be cut. I'm eating like two pieces of bread worth of carbs a day.
Of course, today's the first (read: easiest) day.
Don't let me fall off the wagon guys and girls- next week is carb-loading time
