Well hello there...
So, I'm a rather positive person, especially at work, even amidst all of the negativity that seems to floating around the unit. There's always a bright side, things will get better, this is just a rough time, THIS AIN'T NOTHIN'... However, days like today are the ones that start to get to me. I put some decent leg work into getting some good training opportunities in place, send up questions and request to the proper chains, await patiently for a reply. Then people who are jaded by the system and the way things have happened before just decide to not action it based on what they think has happened in the past and what might happen. No effort, just straight out no, don't even bother, won't happen, no budget for it. These are the same people who keep complaining that it sucks and things are never going to change.
ACCEPTING THAT THE PAST IS THE FUTURE IS WHY THINGS DON'T CHANGE!
If someone wants to put in the effort to initiate some change, let it happen, if it fails, oh well, an attempt was made. Live and learn. Get up and try again.
I love my job, I'm good at it, there is more potential than even I realize. This is a good life, I'm well taken care of. The sacrifices are worth the hardships. Don't stand in the way of someone that wants to make a change that will benefit and help others. Don't feel scared of it. Don't feel less because it wasn't you. Enjoy the ride. Happiness is infectious.

Well hello there...
Lots of change, lots of good things to think about. Lots of people to miss, lots of new things to learn. Steps forward into the future, steps into the unknown of life's adventures. Still smiling to myself, still smiling at the ups and downs.
I'm sure none of you are really too concerned about how seldom I post a blog, ha ha, but I'd really like to post more. Being a private person, this doesn't come naturally. I'd rather carve a short note into the bark of a tree.
Went to a sex show a couple weeks ago, great little burlesque show put on by a couple local troupes, followed up by a mouthy drag queen. Saw some interesting use of needles, a suspension and of course some great people watching. Not too excited for the straps and cuffs, they look a little cheap.
Some big changes coming up at work, moving to a different department, an application has been approved to be sent off. Should be some good fun coming up.
My little dude was on skates for the first time, not exactly Gretzky but pretty darn good for the first time! He's getting some attitude lately, combine that with bigger vocabulary and better reasoning... Going to be bargaining his way out of bedtime in a hurry... Ha ha...

Things are still on the up! Just booked my flights for Mexico! Got an upgrade on the hotel, an extra couples package and I just picked up my new passport. Spent last weekend at Boonstock, first time and I'm hooked! Having seen Korn live, and outside, I am now a huge fan! Volbeat, Face First and the Dirty Heads rounding out the list.
Even having been rather congested that last few days, super tired from late nights of driving, almost done the LSVW portion of this driving course. On to the MLVW next week. Looking forward to 4x4 with that beast!

Too bad, have to spend a week in the mountains for work... Zip line, hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing, camping... How did I ever land a job like this??

Did a 16km ruck run yesterday. Friend of mine told me 'beads of sweat are beads of success!' I like it.
Got some more details planned out for Mexico this August, I know, Mexico in August not the best idea. But, great times can be found outside of good ideas.

Back into soccer again! Felt great to get out for a little kick about with the base team. Should be a good summer, don't see much of an issue making it to most of the practices/games.
Been training for the Mountain Man competition in August steadily for the past few weeks. Can hardly wait to give this one a go! Need to start increasing the intensity, add in some weight training as well.
Should be a fit summer! Still some trail races coming up each month, just signed up for Loops For Troops on the 3rd, just a 10km run.

What is it with you french girls? Just so much darn fun! Just got good and drunk in Jasper for the first time, first time going to a club in Jasper, first time getting picked up in Jasper and of course first random heavy make-out in Jasper... J'aime les filles Francaises!

Finally got another tattoo today. Smash Tattoo in Stony Plain, AB. Fit me in short notice this morning. Worked fast and did a wicked job!
Found my day book from last year, did some scrolling through it. Found some things that I wrote awhile after a breakup. Don't mind the cheesy sappy stuff, I like the way it sounds and makes me feel. All the memories and the pain that we go through makes us the people we are.
I remember when we met.

I remember never getting enough of you.
I remember how you left.
I remember you smiling with me.
I remember hurting you.
I remember us trying so hard.

What a day this was. Started off not wanting to be anything but grumpy with the world... Just couldn't stay mad, between the people at work and working on the trucks, Got all dirty covered in grease and oil. Went for a run in the river valley, then went to see the barber...
Got some good ideas for the next couple tats. May even start on them this weekend and next week!
It was so awesome to sleep in my own bed again after three weeks in a tent on a cot. Could have been worse, but it was still a great time... Despite the rain... the snow... the wind... the dust... the heater in the tent that never shut off...
