It's a bright bright bright bright bright bright bright sunshiney day in Kleio's world. Isn't that nice?
My friend who feared she was pregnant is not, thank science!
Nick's job seems to be going rather well - he'll at least be able to survive there as long as he needs to.
And the things that were good in my world are still good. Nick and I are still working on getting everything ready for a production of Bride of the Monster - he's working on an audition announcement now, and we'll be putting together audition packets and other such things later tonight. He's very very excited about this, which is wonderful to see.
And now, with Nick no longer living off of the vast savings he'd amassed from teaching the last three years, I can look at being a little more loose with my own purse strings. Not audaciously so, of course, but enough that I can make some purchases I desperately want to make. So, when I get my paycheck tomorrow, I will be purchasing 3 movies from Amazon.
This is a wonderful film adaptation of one of my most favorite plays of all time (and not just because I hooked up with Nick while he played Hamlet in it as I Stage Managed the show, though that helps!). I just plain love this movie, and it only came out on dvd within the last two years or so, which has prevented me from already owning it.
I already own Zatoichi 1-4, as well as Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo (with the incomparable Toshiro Mifune), the final Ichi film featuring Shintaro Katsu, the most recent Ichi film with "Beat" Takeshi, AND one volume of the tv series. I'm sort of an Ichi freak, and I hope to have at least Zatoichi 1-10 a year from now.
And...
It appears as though I may be able to purchase a digital camera by the end of October. So, for my photographer friends, I'd appreciate some recommendations. I'd like to get as professional a camera as possible (between the two of us, Nick and I think we can afford a $1000 camera) and then worry about lenses and flashes and things later. I'm sure it'd probably be better off to start with a semi-professional camera, but I hate replacing things just for a better model. But anyway, this weekend I'll probably start looking into potential cameras. Yay exciting! And I'm sure that everyone who has waited oh-so-patiently for new pictures of my boobs will also welcome this news.
