Let’s list “funny” things on this:

3. This person clearly doesn’t like because when I said I was vegetarian we had a discussion about why I was not a vegan but an ovo-lacto vegetarian (that’s right, I remember people that writes me). He (or she) said that I always tried to play the victim when he (or she) was “giving me his/her respectful opinion” about my decisions

A lot of people believe that when a woman talks about feminism, she must loss her feminity or be part of the patriarchy because supposedly things like make-up, heels, skirts etc. only support the patriarchy when it shouldn’t matter if a woman chooses to use something of those things or being femenine because the concern is that there are women who cannot make these decisions (I make this reference because I know that you will take me to those topics about dying my hair, using make up or to wear short dresses). Even restrict women about their decisions whether is about using a burka or heels is a macho/sexist act because it’s telling them what to do and that’s patriarchy.
5. If a woman is naked, she immediately becomes a sexual object, I’m not talking about art because that topic is much longer and I’m not the right person to talk about that, but I can talk about how other people see the female body. I’ll put it this way, a woman does a topless protest (we’ve already had discussions about this) and tries to get the attention, she’ll go to jail (not only because she’s protesting and disturbing the public order, because boobs do alter the public that haven’t seen themselves in a mirror) and this same public will say “she had to show her boobs” that was her decision and apparently she achieved her purpose: It’s my body, my decisions and I perturbed your society. Instead, when a man takes his shirt off on a warm day it’s a normal thing even if it’s not something pleasant to others, he doesn’t go to jail and doesn’t want to get attention, also, if someone insinuates something to him (much better if it’s a woman because if it’s another man and they’re homophobic he gets beat up) he didn’t look for that, the other person was conscious of what he/she said.
Meanwhile, if we do this with a woman, she looked for it and the other person was provoked, it’s clearly her fault; right there we see why a woman’s body is taken as a sexual object; also, the market is designed for men’s consumption: If I get naked is because I’m looking for male attention, for their approval, I’m selling myself (it doesn’t matter if there’s money involved or not. As a woman I can only be bought, I can’t take decisions) and that makes me part of the prostitution, because a picture of my boobs or my butt means a “yes” to everyone, but maybe and just MAYBE I chose to do it; maybe and just maybe I’m not interested on anyone’s approval (If I was, I would clearly be more thin, I wouldn’t have naked photos, just something like swimsuit photos and I wouldn’t bother to discuss about this. I would just say something that would make me more morally acceptable). Maybe and just maybe I don’t always get paid and if you think that SG is going to feed you, to give you for a living etc. What a reality check you will get!. And you’re gonna starve. And maybe when I’m naked I’m no different to when I’m wearing clothes because clothes don’t give me dignity nor morals, I don’t need clothes to join your select group of sexist morals.
Well, If I wasn’t on SG, uploading naked photos of myself with my webcam just for fun or what do I know (because there’s no money or companies involved)… What would make me different?. You surely would continue to say I’m looking for attention, that I’m a slut and I’m looking for someone to fuck, and once again that I’m a whore (even if no one’s paying me and I wasn’t a sex worker. She’s naked, is a prostitute)
6. I’m a feminist because I believe that more women should have the same opportunities that I have to dye my hair the color I want, to dress the way I want or to take naked photos of myself if I want because I’m not interested on getting someone to open the door for me, or to get my bill paid, or to get my boobs praised nor the womb. I neither think that men are inferior (there’s even more feminist men than what’s believed). I just remembered that meme: “She’s feminist, ask for equality… doesn’t let you hit her” (-_____-) Maybe I don’t want you to hurt me because I’m a human being I don’t like to be physically harmed nor I’m thinking on physically harm you and that’s why I’m a feminist, because I’m not going to judge my decisions because they’re my rights, I’m not doing anything illegal nor attacking the rights of other people. So I’m gonna fight for the women who can’t make those decisions, because when I’m talking about women I don’t care if you can have children or not; I don’t care if you’re a lesbian, bisexual or straight because not even a vagina makes you a woman, transgender people are victims of macho behavior too (And I understand machismo as a collective ideology of men and women –there are A LOT of macho women- not just a men thing). I’m not interested about you getting preferential treatment, I don’t care about you getting a job just because you’re a woman nor about you getting a passage of honor just for having a vagina because that would be doing the same that machismo has done with men. I’m interested in you having the same rights of the other people when you apply for a job and being qualified because of your intellectual and work capacities and not for your gender, I’m interested in you being told what NOT to do because that affects other people’s rights not because of your gender, I’m not gonna defend a woman hitting her boyfriend or her husband because that’s still violence and violence doesn’t have a gender (but we must be aware about the figures we have on crimes against women)
7. If I chose to be a Suicide Girl it was not just for breaking aesthetic paradigms, also to break with those moralist ideas about the female body. If I wasn’t a Suicide Girl… Would my opinion still be taken seriously? Would it be more valid? Do I need to cover myself from the feet to the head to make my opinions heard? It’s really interesting to see how people get so annoyed because I’m not stuck in only one category.
8. I’ll echo this but it seems that this still isn’t a clear thing: I don’t make a life of SG. I upload my photos; sometimes they buy them, sometimes not. So, if you think I’m doing this for money, you’re wrong. If I want money, I work (like I do now on the Education Area at the Contemporary Art Centre). I do it (SG) because I want to, I don’t feel any fear and I’m confident to get naked and face these kind of things. I’m not the kind of women that gets naked on photos just for money, I’m the kind of women that gets naked on photos because she wants it, because she has learned a lot about herself, I’m the kind of women that works to get her bills paid (a normal job, from the morning to the afternoon with paperwork etc.), that studies, a daughter, a friend, a lover, a sister… And all those things are the ones that give me the right to talk about feminism because my body doesn’t take away from me any of my rights.
9. Could you imagine if I take my clothes off and I wasn’t a feminist? Probably I’d be much more normal, acceptable and nobody would get mad at me.

If a woman commits an unmoral act, like cheating on her partner, taker her clothes off for photos, being a prostitute etc. she becomes a social pariah, she’s going to be judged by everyone (men and women). But if a man does something alike, he doesn’t get any negative comments or gets treated like a promiscuous being (among other adjectives); it’s a normal thing, it’s a man, blah blah blah, stupid girl that got involved with him. There are corrupt men, that is well known they’re criminal and of course those crimes are illegal and lead to imprisonment but they’re not set aside from the society. Let’s get things clear: A politician from a country in Central America recorded a PRIVATE video telling her stable partner that she wanted to make love with him while she was in underwear. She got dismissed, appeared on world news, people agreed on her dismissing because the fact that she recorded that kind of videos was unmoral (even when the guy was the one that betrayed her) and even the church had to say something. Oh, and she got dismissed by a woman! This woman didn’t commit any crime, it didn’t had anything to do with her job, she didn’t violated any right of any other person, but now all her life she’ll get comments like “It’s your fault” “That’s what you get for exposing yourself” even if she’s an excellent professional, even if she has academic achievements, a family etc. The guy doesn’t get a word about this, even if his actions were criminal no one’s going to mess with him because it’s more unmoral the body than the ideas.
