So, I have an opportunity to interview Liz Phair. I'm waiting on what Sean thinks, which will be the ultimate deciding factor, but what do you kids think?

Would you enjoy seeing an interview with Ms. Phair on SG?

I feel kindof bad. I'm wondering, if I ask the questions I want to ask, if she'll hang up on me.

She's a big girl, and I'm sure she can handle your questions. It would be really interesting to read, and I'm sure it would be one of the most commented-upon interviews you've done so far. I definitely think you should do it. Perhaps you can forward her a copy of all the threads we've had about her before you do the interview?

Keith, I'll interview her! I fucking dig the new album. I've already got tickets to see her in a couple of weeks. I'll tell you one thing, you ain't gonna make her cry. She's one tough cookie. What's your problem with the album?

Listen to those songs again. My contention is that, once you get past the glossy production sheen, the songs are the best group she's written since Guyville. As to The Matrix, I love the idea of a subversive artist like Liz Phair sneaking onto radio playlists in a kinda under the radar manner. I have no problem at all with her taking her kick at the can from a commercial standpoint and I actually think that this whole thing is a masterstroke of media manipulation on her part. Believe me, she KNEW she was gonna create a controversy by working with The Matrix. She has ended up with her most commercially successful record and an amount of press coverage she NEVER would have gotten if she would have just released Whitechocolatespaceegg Part 2. Trust me, she is fucking smart and is fully in control of all this shit. Plus...when I roll down the windows and blast the album while drinving down Pacific Coast Highway on a beautiful summer day, the music makes me smile! All that...and she's cute & sexy. Sounds like the perfect woman to me. biggrin

i feel it borders on genius.

liz rules, whether old fans like the new album or not.

it's nice to be liked, but it's better by far to get paid.
