Todays Shower Thought is about the story of Cinderella. In the Disney version of this story, Cinderella is a blonde, about mid-height (say 5'5"ish), and thin. We'll leave asthetics out of it, and just stick to hard descriptions. Her sisters are short (say in the 5'1" range), overweight, and brunette. Mom is of a similar height to Cinderella, but otherwise matches her daughters.

Fast forward to the prince's ball. The kingdom seems to have an overabundance of brunettes of varying builds and heights, and a shortage of blondes. Throw in height and weight and there were maybe 4 women of Cinderella's general description.

Prince Charming fell for Cinderella that night, in the short time he had with her. When she ran away and lost her shoe at midnight, he knew he had to find her and make her his bride.

Knowing the general descriptions I gave above, wouldn't it have saved everyone a lot of time, effort, and pain (in the original Cinderella story, women were mutilating their feet to try and fit the glass slipper), if he had given a general description to his men rather than just saying "Find the chick this shoe will fit on"? Hell, given the blonde-to-brunette ratio of the kingdom, just changing it to "Find the blonde this shoe will fit on" would have cut weeks off the search.

Just a thought I had.
