Not sure if you're into romance, but the books I'm reading are a little bit of horror, action, gore, and super-steamy sex all in one. Took some getting used to when it came to the slang used in them at first, but I caught on. They're not cheesy like most romance novels. Anyway, just an idea. It's The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward.

Or the Anita Blake series. It's supernatural but she's also a sort of cop, so it's a bit of a thriller, action, and horror series. Lots of gore.
