After a month long hiatus I couldn’t wait to get back to shooting again. I took a month long vacation from the Army and photography to spend time with family and every minute was worth it. Now I am back in the thick of it. My magazine Digital Infustion has been doing great.

I am so thankful

for all the great people who have contribute there work and those who have the bought the magazine as well.

I got a whole hell of a lot of shoots planned, but they are really hard to schedule because of the shift I am currently working with the military. It really makes things harder for me. I had to actually cancel two different shoots prior to working with Kimberly. So, for people who have been wanting to work with me and you are reading this, I am sorry if I don’t have the available time to work with you. If I had it my way everyday would be a photoshoot.

Ok, enough about me and lets talk about the shoot with Kimberly Kolb (http://www.modelmayhem.com/2331978). This shoot is called “Sisters”, it featured Kimberly and her sister Lisa. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a lot of shots of Lisa because she wasn’t feeling well on this day. So, the focus of the shoot was then placed strictly on Kimberly. We did the shoot out at Gunpowder State Park, it was my first time being there and it was really nice. Getting in the shade was a must that day because it was so hot. I made sure everyone stayed hydrated. I was probably the only one sweating.

The shoot was a lot of fun and I want to thank Kim, Lisa and Jeff for being patient with me. Granted they may not have noticed, but I felt so rusty. I don’t know if I should go a month without shooting again.

What you will see in these photos is a new style I am trying to incorporate in my post production work. That’s the one thing about my art I don’t want it to ever be the same every time I shoot. In the meantime, enjoy the photos and the video. Please leave a comment!!

Can't wait for this Sunday. I have taken a hiatus from shooting for a month to spend with my family. During that time I booked shoots for August, worked on my magazine and bought a brand new camera!! So, yes...it feels like I have been in the off-season waiting for the regular season to begin. Do I have some butterflies in my stomach? Damn right, but I couldn't be happier to work with my homie, Kimberly!!

This won't be a nude shoot. I am shooting with her and her beautiful sister who I have yet to meet. The photo above is from a shoot we did at the abandon Henryton State Hospital and it was featured in my Digital Infusion Magazine Issue #1

I guess I should share somethings about myself that is not readily seen in my profile. I have been doing photography now for over 2 years. I am US Army soldier who has fallen in love with photography. I specialize in landscape and portrait photography.

The way it all started was back in 2008-09, I was in South Korea. Working under a Major, being his Photography assistant for our company. I have worked before in television and took classes in TV production in the past, so the camera because natural to me as soon as I touched it. However, the Major and I didn't share the same creative eye and when I came back to the States I bought my first digital camera (DSLR). My grandfather was also a photographer so it became important to me to really learn about photography, but to also find my own identity within it.

I like to have fun when I do photography. Ask anyone who has photographed with me and they will tell you I am pretty laid back and easy to work with. Laughter is a must when I shoot, if I am not laughing and your not laughing at some point while we are shooting then there is a problem. I don't mind if you bring someone with you to the shoots as long as they don't get in the way of the art that is being created.

I can be highly creative on the fly at times. Sometimes I have a millions ideas during shoots that come into my mind and I want to shoot every idea! However, I do like hearing ideas from clients as well and if it is within my capablities it will happen.

My ultimate goal in photography is to have my work remembered and appreciate years from now. I want people to look at my work and figure out what I am trying to express in the photos. I believe every photograph tells a story and I want my photographs to be some of the best stories ever...

So, if you are interested in having me work for you, please email me: jm@jasonmcneilphotography.com
