Right. It's been two months since my last update here. In all honesty, despite having many things I could talk about I really really cannot be bothered updating this. I've lost the compulsion to do it. Despite that, I will try and make the effort and let any interested parties have an update of my life to date:

New job joy: I have a sort of new job. It's what my employers call a secondment ( or, as I like to call it: a shitey excuse to keep you happy because they would never dream of promoting you or helping you up the career ladder because they are more interested in getting bums on seats than your actual happiness in the workplace! ). However, I am happy with this. I scored a good wage increase through it, though I did have to fight for this, despite being promised a figure. ( thanks to a certain lady for that. She knows who she is )
It's only going to last until April but i'm hoping it will open up oppurtunities elsewhere so i can finally be rid of my current employers. Otherwise, it'll be back to job searching and not actually finding anything. Oh well.

Been a couple of meets since the start of October. So it's been good to see the old gang again, and meet a couple of new faces. Most notably mister Aesir. Who i have met before, but just not really chatted too , not sure if that counts as a new face then. Probably not, and now i'm rambling. Short blog my arse.

Tattoos? Yes, I find myself doodling again and wondering what to get next and when I will get it. Its not a good sign.

Plus, its December, which means christmas is near, as you all know. So I will end this short update on a happy note:

I am very much looking forward to spending my first christmas with the most special person in my life. I've never had a christmas with anyone before so it makes it extra special that it's her I will be waking up to on Christmas morning!!

So....had an amazingly good weekend.

Grabbed a late showing of Death Race on Friday. What. A. Film. I loved it. Cars and guns and violence. What else do you need on a Friday night?? I've always wanted to own and drive a Mustang, and now i want to even bloomin more.

During the week, the girlfriend and i decided we wanted to spend the weekend somewhere other than Glasgow. So on Saturday afternoon we packed a few bags, some supplies and a couple of movies, jumped in the car and headed north west to Portsonachan and a nice wee hotel on the banks of Loch Awe. We chose there because we have been once before and loved it then as well. Its just so peaceful and quiet and the surroundings are, quite frankly, idyllic.

The we had a relaxing evening, then headed to the restaurant for dinner. This was disappointing to say the least. Steaks should not be as fatty and juicey as the ones we had, especially when they are well done.
Thankfully, the wine was nice.
Back in the room, it was so quiet and peaceful, there was literally no sound. We sat outside for a while and looked at the stars. Don't see them so much in Glasgow. I had a picture but they don't show up on it.

On Sunday we left the hotel and headed out a bit further to the Oban Sealife Sanctuary.
We spent an amazing five hours here, wandering around, watching the seals and the otter and the other fishies. We saw the 2 resident seals, Laura and Lily swimming around in there pool:


Then we wandered through the rooms that housed different tanks of small sea-life such as crabs, lobsters, jellyfish and seahorses.

We had some lunch then went to see if we could spot the otter. We did!! I love otters. Always have done. This little guys name was Fingle. He was by himself because his sister had died about 6 months ago, but they were a week or so away from getting him a new friend, so all was good!!

After this we wandered around the Sanctuary and got talking to one of the guys that worked there, who showed us the 4 baby seals they had rescued and were taking care of. Poor wee guys were found from different areas of Scotland and rescued. Glad to know they are taken care of for a while and then released back into the wild.

After seeing the two resident seals getting fed ( and cursing the seagulls for stealing their fish!! GRR ) we headed back to shitey Glasgow and a quiet night in with some pizza and the Bourne Identity.

Another week begins. Back to work. *sigh*

As opposed to the members FAQ some of you dudes have been doing i am going to post a blog of things i have realised since my last update. It won't catch on, but bare with me anyways:

Things i have realised:

1. My girlfriend's lasagne is the bestest ever! ( not really something i have realised in the last month, but i had it tonight and thought it worth mentioning!! )

2. Living with my girlfriend is great. I get to see her face every day and i love how it can just cheer me up to see her smile. At me or about something else, i don't care

3. I think i am beginning to hate Glasgow. There is not much to do at the weekends unless you want to go get pissed. Now, i'm a big fan of going to the cinema, but there is only so much you can see and i won't sit through a film i don't want to see just to get out of the house. But i'm starting to hate going to really crowded pubs where half the folk are wasted and just plain rude. Yes, i am getting old.

4. My addiction to gaming is getting less and less and less. Though that might change this month as there is a few games out i defo want!!

5. Friends can suck.

6. People you have known for a lot less time than other people can turn out to be better friends than people you have known for longer.

7. There are some people that i have met through this site that i would be very very happy to have as friends till the day i die and get fired into space.

8. I miss hanging out with said people.

9. Shopping late at night in 24 hours stores is the way to go. No annoying children or glasgow scum to piss me off!!

10. I don't know if i want to work in I.T anymore. Now, i'm not sure if this is because i see myself going nowhere unless i find a better company to work for or not but lately, i have been wondering what else i could possibly do that i would feel happy and satisfied with. Someone today suggested a Nerf Herder. But i am not Han Solo and Nerf's don't exist. Maybe im just being daft, especially when i think it could be a bit late to start a whole new career when i already have a foot in the I.T ladder.

11. I would love to write a book. Something i'm sure i am not alone in. It would be great. I constantly have ideas running through my head, but they are all geek like and i would be embarrased.

12. I wish i could draw better.

13. I wish i had or could afford a nicer car.

14. I wish i could be arsed keeping my current car clean.

15. I really don't mind doing the washing up or tidying the flat.

So here i am sitting watching No Country for Old Men in my new home. Thats right, my new home. i am officially no longer living under the tyrannical rule of a wanker landlord.
I am instead living in somewhere i actually want to be. With someone i actually want to live with, an thats not just because she is far nicer and far far prettier than anyone else i have lived with.

I've been in this flat a lot over the course of the last 6 months so i don't need to spend any period of time getting used it or the bed i am sleeping in. Which is a very good thing

I still have to clean a bit of stuff from the old place and give it a tidy and a clean and hope that the old shit doesn't find someway of screwing me over with the security deposit. I'll be glad to be shot of the place.

Anyways! The last month or so has been good. Been out and about a few places. Last weekend we went to the Wallace Monument in Stirling which involves a walk up a hill and then over 200 steps to the top of the tower. The view from there is excellent, even on a scabby day like it was. ( I would have pictures but my phone takes poor ones and i suck at photograpy! ).

Got one of the best purchases i have made in a long time as well: A Cineworld unlimited pass. Have been to the cinema more this last few weeks than normal! And its pretty good too!!
Most notably Wall-e and The Dark Knight. Two amazingly good films.

Have signed up for the big meet in Edinburgh in September. Haven't been able to make the last couple, the first time was not long after i joined and i was so not confident enough to attend with a bunch of folk i barely knew. Last year would have been different. Far more like drinking and having fun with good friends and making a bunch of new ones, but i had to cancel at the last minute and i was gutted. This year will be different. Count on it. I'll be there and most folk won't remember me hehe

Not much else to say here really. Life is quiet and good and i like it But i'm tired just now and not that chatty anymore, so i'm off to make a cup of tea, check that someone i care about is feeling better and possibly do something productive.

Yesterday was my birthday, as the balloon stated. I was 29. One step closer to the big Three Zero!!
And it was a good weekend! I got to spend it with the most important person in my life right now, which was great to begin with because thats all i really wanted.
But more than that, fabulous gifts were involved!! Heres a pic:

Finally!! the best, in my opinion, ( or the big geek part of me's opinion ) a specially made, Battlestar Galactica bookmark!! Its awesome!!

So i spent the day with someone very special to me, which like i said, was great, cause thats exactly what i wanted. Then went out for dinner with some friends. Got some more gifts!! A flying, screaming monkey, strange gift, but endlessly funny! And a tub of Wasabi covered nuts which are very very tasty!

Met a new person on Saturday as well, who came along to my birthday dinner. A person i never though i would actually meet hah!. But it was nice to finally meet her. And buy her the irn bru i owed

My folks got me a year long subscription to Empire magazine, which is an excellent gift as well. ( thanks be to someone for suggesting it )

And so that was my 29th birthday.

Otherwise, things are pretty much the same. But, i won't grumble. I'm in a good mood, and im happy

Hopefully *hopefully* my final tattoo appointment tomorrow morning. Its taken about a month longer than i had wanted it too, but its worth it in the end. I've decided ( in no small part to the opinions of other people who have more of an arty head on their shoulders than me!! ) that i will just go for the full black, no colour, no flame on the tips of the wings and tail and crest.

Sorry to all you SGScotland folk i didnt see a couple of weeks ago, i just didnt feel like coming through to Edinburgh. Will see you soon enough though. In fact, its almost my birthday. I had hoped to update this today *finally* with a post containing a picture of my freshly completed tattoo on my left arm/back/chest. But no...i arrived at the tattoo place this morning to be told the girl that was doing it had called in sick ten minutes before. I won't say i was pissed off.....well, i was a wee bit, but i would rather have a healthy person doing it than a sick person so there's not much i can do about it. oh well.
I'm more annoyed about having to take a day off work for nothing.

Otherwise....life is peachy. Still searching for that elusive new job. It will come eventually. Fingers crossed. Wait and see. Blah blah blah. But i really need it, im sick of driving in the morning and at night and the fuel costs are stupid. City centre jobs ftw!!!!!

looking forward to seeing some of the guys again in Edinburgh in a couple of weeks.
I saw Indiana Jones last night and loved it!!! Though was a bit bemused by the whole story.

Off now to spend the rest of my day tidying, playing ps3 and listening to music at loud volumes before i go for a bier republic pizza later. Yum.

Awesome. I shall be skint. Too much money going out this month. Hopefully i shall find the time to have a few beers at some point. At least i paid for two gigs this month before now. Doesn't help i am spending daft money on a tattoo on Saturday. Ah well. It's at least something that will last.

Life is no different. Though i have a girlfriend now. Should at least give her some sort of mention for cheering my life up for two months now.

You ever get that feeling that something is going wrong that you don't want to go wrong? I have. Its that feeling that twists your stomach and makes you feel ill. Fuck knows why cause life is pretty sweet at the moment.

I watched a movie last night. Into the wild it was called. It was About this guy. and it was all sorts of awesome. I love the outdoors. And nature. And animals. I've always had this wee bit in the back of my brain that wants me to do something like this, like wander up to the highlands. Not as adventurous as Alaska but you know...start small Maybe i will some day...before i get too old, but its doubtful.

Went on a small album spree also. Something i have not done for a while because i think most new music is shit. Filled up on cheap Nirvana since i don't seem to have any of their cd's anymore. Another Faith No More album...yet another best of. But...it had The Perfect Crime on it. A song that was on the soundtrack for Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. It put me on a search to post it here so you would know what i was talkin about...but i found this instead and it made me laugh so i'm sharing it....


Then i found this. Its not that great, but you can hear The Perfect Crime in most of it....


I miss Faith No More.

And my apprehensive stomach has gone.

Edit: How could I forget?? The next stage in the process of getting my next tattoo has been sorted. Hopefully some time in the next week i shall have a design sorted out for the full left arm, chest and shoulder blade piece i want. Not very regular updates shall be posted here.
