Well, I guess it's time I got around to doing my first blog. Since I've never done a blog before, I figure I'll start with talking a little about myself, and what makes me, me. So, without further a due, here it goes...
My name is Tom, I'm 25 ,and I grew up and spent my entire life in a semi-small town about an hour outside of Philadelphia, Pa.
Since I was about 16 years old, I've been dealing with a debilitating unknown illness which is yet to be determined. In addition to that, I was recently diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. In a nut shell, what that means, is my body is producing too much Cerebrospinal fluid and not draining properly. That excess fluid is putting pressure on my brain and optic nerves, and since optic nerves are not designed to handle any pressure, eventual blindness could result.
It's not easy dealing with illness, but it is a blessing in disguise. It has made me a better person, and made me realize we only have a short time here on this earth, so we better make the most of it. Everyday is a struggle, but I try to live everyday not thinking about what my limitations are, but instead, I think about what tomorrow will bring, and how I can fight to accomplish my goals.
I'm currently a self-employed photographer. I specialize in night club and event photography, but I'm looking to expand into other areas as well. Photography has been a way to forget about the trials and tribulations of life. When I'm behind a camera, I feel like time stops and I'm free from the chains that hold me down. In turn, all that negative energy gets transformed into something beautiful.
I could go on for days, but instead, I'm going to keep it short.
