Great news!
Lucky, I should look into that stuff for myself soon.
Classes are gonna be expensive soon enough

What you gonna get anyway?

That's money I could put to use to be honest, like getting me another fucking car. I'm happy for you though, so another tattoo for you. Can't wait to see it

That's cool, first tattoos are always funny. Seeing how the person reacts to the needle, can be pretty funny. No tramp stamps, those are still sort of hot but really overdone wink

I figured out how to work the system and got about $5500 this semester after expenses and will be getting the same in the spring. Will probably get about $2000 next summer after I pay for everything. Tell me that isn't working it.

That's great! When I was in college I lived in the dorms and my grants and everything basically just covered the bare minimum so I had to get a job at McDonald's of all places...luckily that only lasted 3 months until I got something much better!

It's all about finding loopholes. I found one and took advantage of it so under federal rules I have been an independent student for all of college and I make no money so they give me a lot. I get money from my family but since I technically fall under the rules as an independent student I dont have to claim it. So I got a financial aid package for this current school year worth about $16,000 and my tuition is about $2,000 a semester. And all of the money is grant and scholarship money, no loans so nothing to payback. It's good though because I dont have to work so I can focus on classes instead.

As far as being dependent or independent, it has nothing to do with where you live. You either are independent because of one of the 10 or so exemptions or you are not. The most likely one for most people to meet is being over the age of 23. I got an exemption because they didnt clearly word one of the rules regarding having served in the military. They just asked if you have ever served on active duty military status, well if you enlist in the military basic training counts as active duty under the rules they have but people who join the national gaurd or reserves basic does not count as active duty. I served 28 days active duty in air force basic training before I found out that I had cancer and got booted but it counted as active duty so I have been classified as an independent even when i was living at home.
