So much for riot grrrl feminism antics. I've just been ironing for the past 3 hours - surely they should have robots to do this by now? Uggh.

So today was my first day back at work for 6 days off. I felt like a bit of an exhbition with my hair so drastically different. And you just know when all the "oh it really suits you!"s are obviously fake.
Just like when one of the most annoying girls I work with told me she was pregnant and I said "congratulations !" she could probably tell I was thinking "oh fuck. you're breeding"
That aside it wasn't so bad.

I wanted to surprise my mothership with a puppy. She's had her heart set on a west highland terrier for a while, and since she's on holiday I thought I'd get her one for when she got home.
I don't happen to have £400 in my back pocket, so I swallowed my pride and asked Daddy dearest to sub me the money until payday.
He said "oh no problem with the money, but I don't think it's a good idea"
Um.. Daddy dearest, just because you were absent for the earlier years of my life doesn't mean they didn't happen. I'm not 10 anymore.
He thusly went on to give me the "getting a pet is a large responsibility" lecture he should have maybe given me about 20 years ago.
So my attempt at making dreams come true like Cilla Black was a fail.

So, I spent my afternoon tidying house, painting, baking (lemon cupcakes with lemon curd inside, and strawberry and chocolate cupcakes... If you want to be so tattooed in the office, you have to suck up to the management), watching This Is England 86 (I wish I was Lol) , and ironing.
