Why does it seem like the only way some people hear you is if you yell?

Why can't you just ask someone nicely and they simply go and do what was asked of them. I don't like being the ass hole who has to yell. I don't like being the prick. But when you ask someone to do something that requires immediate attention and they continue to sit there as if they didn't even hear you. WTF?

It seems as if society these days is so focused on themselves that they do not know, don't want to know or seem to even care about things beyond their immediate vision.

When did we as a society stop caring about our neighbor

When did we stop caring about being polite

When did we stop caring about ourselves. Why can we no longer realize that we were made to be in community with each other but we shut that community out. We chase it away

Why?
