Hey all! Who wants to go skiing/snowboarding?
Here's the official event posting in the SGDE group. This is a public group, so feel free to join up if you wanna check it out. You can always leave the group afterward if you don't want to stay. I wish it were just that easy in real-life! Heh.
Ok, the most important thing is equipment. If you don't have any, rentals are available, but you will need a $400 deposit in the form of cash, check, or credit card. I called ahead for this "priveledged" info so there won't be any surprises for anyone that wants to come. Yeah, I'm considerate.
If you're a beginner, you will need a few things. First of all, some waterproof or resistant pants are a must! Don't want to freeze your ass off.... literally. A similar type of jacket or coat will work, and you will definitely want to pick up some gloves if you don't have them. Waterproof gear is a plus.
Not necessary, but good to have are goggles / sunglasses, a beanie / winter hat, chapstick, and sunscreen [for all you fair-skinned people, or if you're afraid of getting sunburn (yes, really)]. It would also be a good idea to bring a warm change of clean clothes and some extra socks. A towel comes in handy too, for those of us who perspire heavily. Also, bring a lunch in a bag, cooler, or whatever if you don't want to pay lodge prices for food.
I will be willing to help anyone with some pointers and non-professional instruction if you will be snowboarding. I'm sure there will also be other people coming who can help with this as well. Or you could pay for a lesson, if you want, but you'll have to look up the prices on the website for yourself.
Hopefully, I'll see some of you there!
