This move has been pretty stressful, but I think I've handled it well.
But first I want to respond to a possible tenant (but as it wouldn't do me any good to actually talk to him, I'll just share it with you, Gentle Readers).
After posting my ads for both my room and Ivarr's room, I went looking at the housing wanted page on Craigslist. I sent one particular fellow an e-mail with a link to my two ads and asked if he'd be interested in either, even though they were both out of his price range. Here is his response:
This makes me laugh because he stipulated that it had to be during the week.
Does he not understand how business works? I mean seriously, if you went in a store and went to the check stand buy an item but the person behind the counter said, "Oh, no, I'm sorry, there might be someone else who wants to purchase that, you can't have it until they get a look," wouldn't you be pissed? And besides, did he think he was the only one looking? I did apologize profusely.
His point about responsibility is even funnier. The irresponsible thing to do would be to not have told him the room was claimed, let him come over here and look at it, then tell him. Or better yet, just not even be home when he stopped by.
And, yes good sir, it is just as well. I do not appreciate people flying off the handle at me simply because they didn't get their way. Hell that's why I'm moving out of this place.
Gentle Reader, I am terribly excited to move, but it's making me anxious. I'm using Earth Friendly Moving instead of cardboard boxes. They rent out these neat recycled green tubs for a week at a time. The guy (who I think was the owner) reassured me I'd have plenty of time to pack if he dropped the boxes off July 31. I wanted to pack a little bit each night leading up to the move. So now I will be packing everything that night and the next.
requiem and a coworker are going to help me get everything to the new place. I'm trying to figure out which U-haul to rent. It's almost $1...
