Things are going quite well in Fauxyland. The job continues to be a blast, although there is quite a bit of stress for me right now. I was hired on a 9 month emergency appointment due to someones sudden departure; which has been an incredible opportunity for me, but now the job is actually coming up for the full review and hiring. I feel like I am doing a good job, but I have room for improvement and I got a glimpse at some of my competition for the job and there are some really stellar applicants. Keep your fingers crossed for me, toes too if you have that particular talent!
On a literature note: I am SUPER-DUPER-PUMPED about Neil Gaiman's new book coming out. Ocean at the End of the Lane is going to be EPIC!! Neil is probably my all-time favorite person and if you asked me the one person that I would most like to sit down and have a coffee with to chat about anything at all he would be the hands-down winner.
On a musical note: There are a ton of my favorite musicians either just released or releasing new material.

And the most amazing musical news of the year is that Mike Doughty is releasing a CD of Soul Coughing songs reimagined. He has a crowd sourcing site set up to help with the release. There are some epic updates and behind the scenes of the process.

I really wish that I had a bit more money to throw down on some of the awesome tours going around right now, but alas money and time are at a premium right now. Regardless, I am super stoked about all of the wonderful art being pumped into the world right now.
Finally on a gaming note: I have become enamored with mobile gaming. My xbox hasn't been turned on in over two weeks as I've been playing around with these three games:
