it is like 99% sure thing that i have lost the condo i had an offer in on. the sellers never disclosed that they property would be forclosed on without an offer 30 days prior to march 6. my offer was signed and dated february 6, but due to some red tape bullshit, the lead time window was missed. of course i didn't find out about this sherriff's sale until saturday. the only hope was to have their attorney go to court to ask for a postponment of the foreclosure while my offer was considered, but the sellers decided they'd rather be foreclosed upon than pay the money to have their lawyer go to court.

i'm really angry about this, not so much that the property is lost, although i am pretty pissed about that, but the fact that they never disclosed the information. i went back and forth between my agent, and the sellers agent gathering information about the place for at least 3 weeks. it was clear that i was interested in the property and wanting to make a serious offer, so why not a head's up?

the selling agent did say there was a slim chance it wouldn't go to sale, but i'm not holding my breath. i would imagine it is very rare in situations like this that things work out in favor of the party that isn't the bank.

clock starts now on trying to find a place to rent to get the hell out of the suburbs and then continue looking for a new place to buy.
