Wow. Decided it had been way to long since I actually posted. Big thank you to whoever paid for my membership back in February. I never even realized it had expired! I'd love to find out who did it!

I went to the Warped Tour today in Oregon. I haven't been to one since 1998. I actually went to 96, 97 and 98 and then kind of fell off. I felt like old balls today. Seems like the age bracket for warped tour is still pretty much 16-21 with enough outliers that I didn't feel completely left out.

Per usual Bad Religion, NOFX and Less Than Jake continue to rock. I also discovered a band called The Architects that I thought were amazing. They are a punk band from Kansas City and blew me away. I felt bad for them; they were stuck on the SkullCandy Stage off in the corner near some Port-O-Pottys. Regardless, I hope they take off. They played old school punk the way it was meant to be played. Another nice surprise was Meg & Dia. I only caught the tail end of their set but I liked what i heard so I will be doing a little more digging into their music.

I also finally got a chance to see Black Tide play live. I'm kind of ashamed to admit this but I discovered them via the Rock Band video game months back and have fallen in love with the music since. They did not disappoint. The whole band rocks but their drummer is AMAZING.

Now perhaps I am just a curmudgeon but I was blown away by how expensive everything was. Hell, they charged $2 just to get a stage schedule and map. Granted, I last went to Warped back in 98 but geez, I remember them just giving tons of shit away. Now you get charged an arm and a leg just for water.

All things considered, I enjoyed my experience. There weren't as many bands I was stoked to see this year but I chalk that up to my age and being removed from the scene more than Warped Tour itself. I'd have to give it a sold 4 out of 5 stars.
